The B&B was beautiful, and Yuki was still very considerate to prepare the fruit bread for us.Perfect for multiple people traveling together (this time we were 11 people).It was a wonderful time.

It was very clean, with good access, and a nice place to stay. I was able to stay like I lived in Shirahama. Convenience stores, outside hot springs, and restaurants are also within walking distance.

Doratei is an idyllic, newly refurbished Japanese house set in the rural Wakayama prefecture. The house is exactly as described in the photos; beautifully detailed, with tatami in the bedrooms and living room, and wooden floors in the western style kitchen. The house is really well equipped with modern appliances, bathroom, toilet and washing machine and has everything you need to enjoy a stay in this beautiful part of the country. Lee is an amazing host, super friendly, and responsive. He was very helpful in sharing his insights of local hikes, and recommending restaurants and even provided us with some rice from his fields, which was delicious! I would highly recommend Doratei, and would love to stay again.

Takeshi was very friendly. He explained a lot about the house. Including how to operate the record player in the 'speakeasy'! It is a charming and traditional house. It makes you feel like you live in a real house rather than a holiday home. The diagram of what to expect (which is listed in the pictures of the house) is very accurate. It was a nice experience to live in the tatami rooms and having to make our own beds with the futons. Even though it's kind of remote, it's not completely quiet at night: you can hear some noises from the fishing boats at the pier. It makes you realise that you're pretty close to the ocean. It was nice to walk along the harbour and piers: very clear water with a lot of fish. Unfortunately, we didn't see any sea turtles. Maybe next time!

Ryochi’s Airbnb was absolutely perfect for our 2-night stay in Koyasan. His home is stylish, clean, and convenient. The washing machine/dryer was a godsend for us, as we were in the middle of our Japan trip and needed to do laundry. There are bus stops and a Family Mart within 30 seconds walking distance. SUPER CONVENIENT! The town of Koyasan is amazing! I recommend a night walking tour of Okunoin Cemetery. Make sure to book that tour at least two weeks in advance. Ryochi can guide you on that ahead of time before your arrival. Speaking of Ryochi; he’s a legend. What a cool guy. He picked us up from the Koyasan cable car station and drove us around town pointing out sights and giving us a wonderful introduction to the town. Then he dropped us off at our Airbnb. SO COOL! Ryochi is the best host I’ve ever had on Airbnb. Thank you Ryochi!

We stayed with our family of four.It was well cleaned and clean sheets and towels.The internet was easy to connect to, the bath was large, and the children seemed to be satisfied.

The host, the location, and facilities were very good. This is a place I would like to visit again in every season.
