House vacation rentals in Mangōnui

Had an amazing weekend, awesome property had everything and more, pool was awesome for the kids and so was the yard. David is an excellent host, had awesome communication, was also very understanding when I forgot something at the house. Would absolutely recommend this property to anyone.

Christine’s place in Russell is in a dream location. Just a few minutes walk into beautiful Russell. The house is lovely - spacious, well-equipped and ideal for 6 people. My son loved the pool too! We’ll definitely be back

Hosts were super lovely and accommodating. They live right across the driveway and the pool is technically in their front gate but we had complete access and privacy. Host were lovely and going out of their way to make our stay awesome I.e. getting the kayaks ready for us, late check out, local recommendations etc. Would 100% book again and considering it :).

Such a good spot. Private. Beautiful view. So good having the pool and spa! Nice house layout, spacious. Easy quick 10 min drive into town.

This is a very comfortable stunning home - you'll have everything you need in the kitchen, comfy beds, good showers, laundry, and a pool which is rare up here. The AC works phenomenally well - turn it on for a few minutes and bliss. Internet is mostly good and I could work and do zoom calls. The driveway is a little steep for the angle into the garage but we just parked on the street since its so quiet up there. It was a bit far from things to do - a couple hours up to Cape Reigna, an hour back to golf at Kauri cliffs, but there are some things to do in town like walk around the Taumarumaru nature reserve, go to the beach, etc Lunch at the Mangonui fish shop followed by coffee and dessert at Max's is a must. No tumble drier. So do your laundry early and use the racks to dry it.

Great location. Margaret is a flexible host and let us check out late. The deck and outside area is lovely and sunny.

My partner and I have traveled around the world and this is hands down our favourite AirBnB we have ever stayed at. Lyndsay and Maurice greeted us upon arrival and provided a quick tour showcasing their beautiful home which photos don’t do justice. The views are incredible and the location is perfect near the water. The house comes very well equipped for cooking, relaxing and just all around enjoyment. Our corgi loved the fenced in yard and easy access to the beach! The paddle boards and kayak were heaps of fun to escape the summer heat on the water and if the heat got a bit too much the AirCon was lovely to have. We would HIGHLY recommend staying here to anyone who is looking for a quiet beach getaway while still having activities close by!

We were a group of 5 staying at Donna’s place, including 2 children. The house is spacious and comfortable for families and Donna went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable by arranging a porta cot for our under 2 year old

We had a wonderful stay at Douglas's place. It is very close to the beach, has great views, and it's very clean and comfortable. If anything, the description and photos on Airbnb don't do it justice! It's really a perfect place for a holiday. Douglas (and his brother William) is an amazing host who took us on a successful kiwi spotting walk in our first night! Top class hospitality in a beautiful part of the world.

Great location - amazing view and very convenient as it is very close to the vehicle ferry. Andrea is a great host - kept us updated and provided very clear instructions. Given the opportunity, we will stay here again.

What a beautiful place to stay with a large group. Our family stayed for the weekend for my dad’s 80th. We had a wide range of ages and all were created for in this beautiful home and surroundings.

The property was immaculate, great kitchen appliances and very well equipped. We enjoyed the outdoor area and BBQ soaking up the stunning views of the Bay of Islands. The location was within 10mins drive to both Russell and Paihia, yet private and serene. Communication by the host was great, clear instructions for arrival and comprehensive information about the property and facilities. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Only ended up staying the one night, instead of the three nights. This was due to my vehicle breaking down and having to get to towed back to Kaitaia. Even though we managed to get one night only, we would definitely book again if free. The only negative was the musty and damp smell on arrival. Joe left a message to indicate this issue and made every effort to rectify this minor issue by providing 2 humidifiers to solve the problem. We still managed to get a great nights rest. Te Huia is a magical place. We are so lucky to find this place. Susanne and Paul built a peaceful sanctuary that allows guests to find escape velocity from the urban jungle and off the hedonic treadmill. The house is beautifully arranged both inside and out, and a spacious area to wind down after morning and afternoon hikes. If you're looking to practice mindfulness surrounded by lush native greenery, this is the place.
