The house was beautiful and easy to find! The dock area was a little busy with the neighbors but overall good. We ended up having to leave early for a family emergency but will be back! The house was very close to the beach and that helped make it easy to get up and to the beach to fish before everyone else got there. Great hosts!

My family and I had the most wonderful time and cannot wait to come back! It was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway, and walking distance from restaurants, shops, etc. What a beautiful place to stay and relax. She was wonderful about answering any questions we had! We will definitely be coming back.

Unplugged was everything I hoped for. Peaceful, quiet, great views of/easy access to water. The hosts are so thoughtful having things available to do indoors ie: movies, puzzles and mindful coloring books and the best equipped kitchen that included a sharp chefs knife which I really appreciated! If I return to Matagorda I will definitely be staying here again -but longer! 😊

This place was absolutely perfect!! Very clean and cozy AND QUIET. I rented the cabin for my elderly in-laws and they were very pleased. The cabin is tucked down at the end of a quiet little lane and there was plenty of room for a truck, boat and a car. Out in front was a BEAUTIFUL rose garden. It was so beautiful with the climbing roses. We would and probably will be renting there again. Mark was VERY helpful and responsive. A very trustworthy host!

The RV I rented (in the picture) wasn't available but Derick brought in another RV and parked it right in front of the bay (as shown in his other listing). The location upgrade was fantastic and I really appreciated Derick's efforts to accommodate my stay. The RV was once again spotless and comfortable. A/C and heat worked great. Easy to find and so very peaceful and quiet there. Highly recommend a stay with Derick!

Our host, Josh, was incredibly prompt and helpful in responding to any message. The grounds are beautiful, and the house welcoming and clean. We most enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, lighted fishing pier, and the pelicans. We highly recommend this place for couples, or a whole gang of fun-seekers.

In the mornings he used the internet to get work done and I read on the peaceful outside patio in the sunshine. Walking along the bay is always a highlight when we visit Palacios. You know when you travel with kids and feel like you need a vacation after your vacation? That wasn’t the case on this trip. We had a very relaxed trip and left feeling super refreshed. The house had plenty of space for us to spread out and a huge outdoor area, which my kids loved. We brought bikes and the kids were able to safely cruise around on the property while we grilled and could watch them. The kitchen was equipped for us to cook meals at the house. We were close enough to the beach and marina to quickly drive back to the house if we forgot something. Hillary had great suggestions for what to do while we were there that were age-appropriate for our boys.

I feel very lucky to have stayed at Rene' and Illeen's ranch cottage for three days - a wonderful combination of thoughtful generous hosts and a delightful cottage. I enjoyed meeting and visiting with Rene' and Illene upon my arrival, and I realized later that our in-person meeting made it very easy for me to feel comfortable and entirely secure at the cottage. I knew that I could reach out if I needed anything, but Rene' and Illeen were also gracious in providing privacy and autonomy at the cottage. The cottage itself is lovely - spacious and light filled, furnished in a wonderful and fun combination of vintage finds and artful newer items, and generously supplied. Very relaxing spot. The covered porch that wraps around the cottage was a wonderful spot to sit - I headed out to the porch each morning with my coffee. I was in the area to visit with friends who live near Edna. But the cottage would also be a great destination.

We absolutely loved this home. Our kids and grandkids came to visit us while we were staying at one of Edward’s other locations. The house is beautiful and very clean. The backyard is fenced in and made for a great place to play games with the grandkids. We felt safe and at peace here. When it came time for everyone to head home they didn’t want to leave and so Edward allowed us to extend for another day. We are grateful and would definitely recommend staying here.
