An EPIC getaway! Like none other. Down to the finest detail. Luxurious, artistic, earthy, sensual, gorgeous! Such a unique creation in a stunning, peaceful and inspiring natural environment. You can feel the heart and vision that has gone into this project. We loved so much about this place, especially all the fireplaces and hot tubs and little corners to sit and savour the magnificent views (sunset and stargazing on the outdoor cargo net, anyone?). The fantasy room was a cheeky fun bonus to an already decadent situation. Wynand and Bernadine have thought of everything! They are also very generous with their time and gifts, and were super quick to respond to our questions. Thank you for this creative masterpiece, we are very happy to know about Skaam and would love to come back!

Absolutely amazing place, will forever have a special place in our memories. The views are absolutely incredible, watching the rain clouds roll in through the valley right from the comfort of your bed/steaming hot tub is definitely something to experience for yourself. A great way to take a break from the busy city life, would highly recommend the stay to anyone.

Breathtaking views and such a good location. Had a little difficulty getting up to the cabin with my car but it is quite low. Overall had a great experience!

Wow!!! What a gem of a place!! Unbelievable location and surroundings. This is definitely the place to go to when you want to get out of the city. The owners are just as nice as this place is beautiful. We will definitely be back. I also hope you get to meet Japie - kind soul who loves lamp tjops :) And go find the waterfall!!!!

Excellent incredibly remote location

This place is very special, and a unique addition to any trip! Beautifully decorated, very well stocked, and incredibly peaceful and private. We loved using the pizza oven and hot tub, and taking walks on the surrounding trails. I would absolutely recommend to everyone!

One of the most amazing places. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights and it definitely wasn't long enough! The home itself was very substantial and had everything needed. It was situated in one of the most beautiful places with a dam and lovely wildlife. A lovely place for a break away. Would definitely go back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Arum Lily. The cabin was clean and well kitted out - it’s also in a very tranquil setting. Mandy was so helpful with providing recommendations of local shuttle services and assisting us with a late check out request. Would highly recommend!

My stay at River Song was a wonderful experience. The location is absolutely out of this world – right on the banks of the Bruintjies River. The birdsong at dusk and dawn, and throughout the day is marvelous, including owls hooting in the evening, and the fish eagles' calls during the day. Although the cabin can get quite hot, one can open the windows on all sides to allow a flow of air throughout, and to feast your eyes on the lovely views. Kayaking on the river was another highlight that was awesome! The river is quite serene and the scenery exquisite, especially in the morning. The water is lovely for a swim as well. Although I was on my own and working all the while (strong wifi), the cabin would be ideal for a family getaway. A deck built between some of the tall Eucalyptus trees right on/over the river, has a table, seating and even a shower for lovely days spent outside. I'll definitely book again!

We loved the stay at the 'green' cottage. Lea was super friendly and helpful with checkin and any advise on activities to do around the area. Our 2 year old was in heaven listening to the lions roaring from the neighbour's animal sanctuary, after dark. Lea kindly allowed us to drive through their farm to view the Zebra and Eiland, 4x4 probably recommended. The cottage was clean and kitted out for our short stay. A braai under the closed verandah made a rainy night magical. we hope to be back.

My partner and I really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, we were entertained by the view. Even though it was mostly cloudy we could just soak away in the tub and curl up by the gas fire place. I will be back for sure!

Amazing little get away place, with river right in front of you, definetly had a relaxing stay.

A friend and I needed a few days to get away and relax. This was the perfect place for us. Quiet and serene. We enjoyed walking a bit and the swimming pool was so nice on a hot day. The house and kitchen are well set up and the lounge furniture is very comfortable. Great care has been taken to make sure that guests are very comfortable!

A magical place to unwind We had a wonderful time in Deon’s cabin – the view is absolutely breathtaking! Every day, antelopes and zebras passed right by the house, and we enjoyed both sunrise and sunset from the terrace. The walking trails around the cabin are beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a morning or evening stroll. Inside, everything we needed was there – even a washing machine and a dryer, which made things very convenient. Deon was always available and checked in to make sure everything was fine. His hospitality made us feel welcome from the very beginning. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Deon, for being such a kind and thoughtful host! Thomas & Andreas

A beautiful, off the beaten track stay and very flexible check in and out which made for a relaxing stay.

Marcia's place is a must stay if in the area. Absolutely stunning views of the dam and mountains. The cottage lacked nothing and the terrace sitting area was so peaceful. Would highly recommend it!

The White House was a perfect weekend getaway from the city and exactly the technology and cell phone detox needed! Totally accessible by normal car as clearly stated by the host - the property is beautiful to walk around and well marked. The house itself had everything needed to cook, clean, braai, relax and everything in between. The hot tub was amazing to sit and relax in and watch the stars go by at night! Reminder to bring bug spray though! Was amazing to wake up in the morning with the blinds up and see the landscape. Will definitely be back!

I highly recommend this, “out of the way”, log cabin. It is great value. Geko is a modern day Mc Guiver and he has made this place a great place to stay if you want to get away and have some peace and quiet. The place is functional and spacious and the balcony is terrific for sitting and reading and provides a great vantage point to watch the spectacular sunsets over the valley. Geko is a very friendly and helpful host. The place was excellent value and I highly recommend this place in every way.

Cottage in the Kloof so perfectly describes this stay. Yet, if I were to rename it, it would be the house surrounded by birds. We awoke to the gentle sound of bird call and many a morning was enjoyed with a cup of tea watching the sun appear through the mountain with little Robins moving about in the plants that surround the home. Anywhere you look your eyes will fall upon the beauty of the mountain. We made use of the hot tub every day and loved our drive up to the 4 x 4 track to the new A-frame home. If you’re looking for peace and quiet then this is definitely the space for it. Thank you for having us, Jackie. We will be back for sure.

Very quiet and peaceful. Off the beaten path and unplugged from reality. We really enjoyed it.

We had such an amazing stay and felt very lucky to have found this place. You can’t get any closer to nature than this. Stephanie is a great host who made us feel very welcome. There are nice hikes right in front of your doorstep. And the horses around the house and the option to go horse riding with Stephanie felt like such a big bonus. It felt very unique. During our stay we’ve cooked all our meals ourselves and enjoyed a BBQ outside, but there are also great restaurants in town. We had a rainy day during our stay, but the house is perfect for a cozy day inside with the fireplace burning. Thank you Stephanie for sharing your special piece of land and life with us!

Amazing view, super cozy cabin, with all necessary things to make a super relaxed weekend. Despite the acsent being steep, we managed perfectly with a VW Polo.

Such a unique stay. Loved very minute. All of the animals add such a wholesome feel and I’d recommend anyone to stay here!
