Wonderful place to stay. We’re gonna try to book a trip for next year or I mean this year and August.

This spot was the perfect get away for my wife and I, as well as our two dogs! Quiet, remote, and very cozy! During our time here we actually spent a couple of days at the house because we didn’t want to get out! Felt right at home, everything was perfect! Thank you once again for the relaxing time and hospitality!

Lovely stay for a girls trip! Scenic and cozy and incredibly peaceful. Hosts were very helpful with any questions//concerns and were happy to resolve an issues. Happy with our stay and would recommend.

Excellent location and friendly check-in! You do have to check-in at a certain time (between 4-6) so not as flexible as some other options. Adorable place and adorable amenities! There were quite a few rules but didn’t harp on our time! I appreciated the 11 am check out and minimal check-out to-do items to complete! Thanks for a great stay!

I believe magical, spiritual and dream cicadas surround Douglas Mountain Drive! James mountain retreat was absolutely hands down the absolute best experience I have ever had in an air B&B! The sound of nothingness still gives me chills and thrills of delight now that I have returned to normal life. If you are in search of a complete escape from all the stress and worries of everyday life like I was, I cannot recommend James Douglas Mountain Cabin enough!!!! Me and my two grown children and son in law had a Thanksgiving that will forever be imprinted in our souls. We laughed, hiked, played UNO, Cooked, sang. shivered, saw a many shooting stars from the hot tub, discussed the future, the past but mostly were all enjoying the moment. I would absolutely love to spend every Holiday at Douglas Mountain as long as I live! Thank you so very kindly James for offering this amazing abode to me and my family! I have told so many already in person and now I'm telling everyone, THIS IS it YAll!!!

Super helpful host

The cabin was well stocked with all the essentials and was clean. The cabin was overlooking a river and is close to downtown Evergreen. It was a perfect spot for our trip to Evergreen.

Spike was a phenomenal host! He was extremely communicative before we ever checked in, and stayed so throughout our entire stay. The home was absolutely gorgeous and we loved everything about it!

Dorothy was very helpful with any requests or questions we had. The house was very nice and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We had an amazing, cozy stay in the A-frame! The house is beautifully maintained and stocked with everything you could need during your visit. It’s secluded within the state park offering a peaceful retreat, yet conveniently located within 10 minutes of a gas station and market. Guirec was an incredibly responsive host every time we had a question. We encountered a bit of difficulty navigating the last uphill stretch despite having a 4WD SUV, so be sure to come prepared if you’re visiting in the winter. That said, we can’t wait to return for another stay!

The Heart Stone Cabin is an amazing place to stay. It’s peaceful and serine. There was literally nothing we did not have. Penny does a fabulous job making sure her guests are comfortable and have everything they need. Penny is a PHENOMENAL host. Excellent communication, fabulous ambiance, amazing vibe. This truly is a romantic destination. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin!

Great spot to get away from the city for the weekend. Most everything that we needed was there for us! Ilana’s space was warm and cozy and incredibly welcoming to our doggos. Perfect space for a group of folks with enough room to spread out as needed.

Julie’s and Curt place is beautiful and homey! It makes you feel like you’re at a relatives house. Easy check in and check out with great views! If you have a large party, there are enough rooms for everyone. Great place to get away from the city and relax while still having reasonable access to the everything you need. If I’m ever back in the area I would definitely reserve again!

Absolutely loved our stay! The cabin is nestled in the mountains and the views were breathtaking. We spent a lot of our time just looking out at the scenery and stars. The highlight was curling up by the fire with hot chocolate as we watched the snow fall—such a cozy, peaceful vibe. Our kiddo was in heaven with the treehouse and the spacious downstairs area, where she could run around and explore. This cabin truly felt like a home away from home, and we can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a mountain retreat that offers both beauty and comfort.

What a great getaway quaint place to stay with retro vibes. Would love to stay here again in the future. This spot has potential as well for great summer and winter activities.

Came into town during a snowy weekend and Jeffery’s place was the perfect cozy get away with beautiful views! The home is clean and well kept, along with the kitchen having most everything we needed to cook meals during our stay. We got about 6 inches of snow while we were there and somebody came to plow the driveway and shovel the stairs which was great! Jeffery was very quick to respond with any questions that we had while we were there. Overall this was a great spot and I would absolutely recommend to friends and family :) thanks again!

We had a great stay! The place felt super comfortable and really homey from the start. Everything was clean, well-stocked, and just made it easy to relax. The host was awesome, and helpful. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a chill, cozy spot to stay!

This cabin was great! Family trip with my 3.5 year old grandson for 5 days. The house was immaculately clean and we had everything we needed, including extra bedding. Lots of soft blankets for sitting on the deck in the morning and evening. Nothing was an issue-we had plenty of water, WiFi and cartoons on tv most of the time. Enjoyed sitting by the river, fishing off the bridge, walking/hiking down the tracks to the train bridge and tunnel (great photo ops), Nederland is close and has cute shops (the guy at the mountain man shop is a hoot) restaurants (avoid that wagon wheel western one), and the carousel is awesome for kids and adults! Natalie was GREAT! Very responsive and helpful, and just plain nice. The only regret is that we didn’t see the bear that had been in the area, although we saw deer several times. And a moose on the road to Nederland. We would definitely stay here again if we come back this way! THANKS NATALIE for such a great trip—my family REALLY needed it!!

This small cabin is perfect for 2. There was nothing that we lacked. The cabin was clean and tidy. Everything worked. The WiFi was reliable, which doesn’t always happen. Tami, our host, was attentive and made sure that any questions we had were answered quickly. The bed was comfortable. The roads to the cabin are well maintained but the cabin is up a short driveway that might have snow. An all wheel drive car is highly recommended. The location, just outside of Golden Gate Canyon State Park, really puts you close to any number of adventures that you might wish to have. It is also close to Eldora Ski Resort and the interesting town of Nederland. This is a great spot for peace and quiet. Having just stayed in a room that didn’t have adequate lightning for reading, I want to mention that the lighting in the cabin was excellent!
