The Bothy: apartment-style homestay

The Bothy is a self-contained and independent unit of Belinda and Hugh's lovely home, but has the same fantastic views of the lake and the mountains as their own sitting room. It has a small kitchen so you can be as independent as you wish, and a comfy lounge with "that" view! The main bedroom has a king bed, but there are two single beds and a small child-sized bed in a mezzanine loft (with pull-out ladder access) for the family, and a pull-out couch which makes into a comfy bed for one extra.

Amazing place, the views over the lake Taupo and the mountains were breathtaking! We had the most wonderful stay, relaxing on the terrace and swimming in the lake which is only a couple minute walk from the property. Tim was super helpful and a great host. Would highly recommend!

The house is in a great location and the rooms are spacious enough. You can see Taupo Lake from the living room. The only minor drawback is that the towels provided in the bathroom are not clean enough. Some turn yellow, while others are covered in dust. But our family still likes it very much and we live happily.

Thank you Karen & Peter for a wonderful stay. Kinloch is a safe and fun place to visit. The home is modern, well appointed and is perfect for a family, with separate wing for parents. Good double garage and a restful aspect next to a reserve which is a short walk to the lake. We would fully recommend this property and we would like to return. Karen is a great communicator. Carolyn’s house is a true gem! the house is spacious, great bathroom and very well stocked kitchen. and the location!!!! the grounds literally touch Lake Taupo, it does not get better!! The communication with Carolyn was very easy, she also responded always very quickly. We had so wonderful days at the house, and can’t recommend it enough

We were there with our daughter doing Ironman and the location was perfect. Could walk easily down to Transition station and Lake and into town to shop and restaurants. Very quiet at night so peaceful and good to sleep. It was hot so the bedroom fans were really good.
