Chalet vacation rentals in Lake Michigan

We were pleased with our stay at the Chalet Up North. There was lots to do in the area and supplies and necessities were nearby. Great value. Peaceful. Private. Excellent. Thanks Rachael.

We had a fantastic stay at the chalet with our 2 dogs. Meghan was a great host — she checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and was responsive to questions. The house has tons of character and is well appointed. Beds were so comfortable. The view off the back deck is spectacular. The backyard area is extremely spacious with plenty of room for dogs to run around (but unfenced). There is also a fenced gravel area under the deck if your pups need to be contained. Great location — about 10 minutes from downtown Harbor, 12-15 from Petoskey. Would absolutely stay here again!

We stayed at the Chalet the weekend of Cherry Festival and found the price to be VERY reasonable. We were a party of 8 and felt comfortable with the space and bed layouyt (2 couples and 4 kids). The decor was very tasteful and we noticed all the little touches such as bringing extra dish soap over, fresh flowers in multiple places, and delicious, fresh cookies! There is a basketball hoop and campfire. They have a wonderful deck out by the lake, perfect for parents to hang out while the kids swim. Next time, we'll make use of the grill down by the lake and make a meal down there as well! Plenty to do on the property alone! Becky was very helpful when we wanted information on Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and provided information on the area before we got there. Thanks for a WONDERFUL stay!

Carrie’s place was fantastic! Easily slept 12, easy to get to right off of a paved road.

there was plenty of room for seven people. the rooms were all big. there was enough stuff in the kitchen to use. the only thing I wish was a half bath upstairs people had to come down to use the bathrooms. but other than that it was great

We absolutely loved our stay at The May Chalet! It was perfect for both the adults and kids in our party. It is amazingly clean and well-stocked. It had just about anything we needed and different places and spaces for us to hang out - whether that was shooting hoops, chilling in the hammock, around the fire, or doing a giant puzzle with the friends in the great room. Walkable to the beach and close to so many great things that SW MI and Lake Michigan have to offer. Would absolutely stay again.

This place is a hidden gem, very peaceful and quiet, beautiful area. The house was a perfect size basement area was perfect for the kids, they loved the karaoke machine, building blocks and the bunks were a hit. We also loved the surprise ring hook game by the firepit/grill and the giant janga game in the garage. Aiden was amazing at responding to any questions we had during our stay. Great neighborhood for going on walks.

Excellent place to stay, beautiful area and home!

The photos on the app simply don’t do this place justice. It is cute, homey, thoughtfully appointed with all the games, cards blender, pens, paper, cooking gear, paper plates/plastic cutlery you don’t have space to bring and often - even at an Airbnb rental- end up having to buy or do without. Boat launch in town is a 5 minute ( by boat) ride away so in a week, we launched once and landed once and fished every day. Already planning our next trip here.

The house was a great stay for our group for a ladies wine tasting weekend. A lot was provided (kcups, soaps, shampoos). It was very clean and a perfect place to stay. The communication with Kara was great. We would definitely return again!

Great place to gather when you need space! Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. We were in town for a family wedding. Lots of great places to sit and talk inside and outside too. Very close to Charlevoix and The Castle Event Center. Would be beautiful in the fall and winter!

We had a wonderful stay and it was perfect for our group outing. Everyone was comfortable and the space had everything we needed. We liked that both kitchens were well stocked with cooking and kitchen ware as well as storage space for all our needs. Almost every room having their own bathroom was very nice, and the building layout and bedroom number allowed our group have plenty of their own space. The common areas were cozy and big enough for all of us to congregate and share meals together. It was truly a great perk to have the shuttle service and resort spa available to us. The location is convenient to downtown Boyne and Gaylord for quick trips and the house itself was in a picturesque and peaceful area. We would absolutely love coming again and would plan to stay longer so we could take advantage of more activities next time.

This roomy, comfortable lakefront home provided a wonderful summer gathering spot for our eleven-member family. Sleeping bunks were ideal for out five grandsons as were the multiple bathrooms. The shallow walk out lake, paddle boat and kayaks kept them busy all day and the ample grassy area was perfect for lawn games. The large kitchen was well stocked and made meal preparation easy. The home was clean, well-organized and well stocked with anything we needed. Matt was a pleasure to work with from our first inquiries to our departure and beyond. Always providing a quick response to questions and detailed information about the home.

Our stay at this cabin was phenomenal! With its 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, it perfectly accommodated our group's multiple families across various age groups. Not only was it a tremendous value, but its proximity to Traverse City made it an ideal choice for us. We were delighted by the cabin's cleanliness and the spacious, open layout. The endless supply of firewood was a blessing, especially during the unexpectedly chilly nights. Ryan was outstanding—responsive and helpful, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. This was our first visit to this area, and it surpassed our expectations. Although we typically kayak on the Oscoda River, we ventured to the Manistee River (just south of dam) this time and found it to be a much nicer trip. It’s safe to say that we’ve found our new summer kayaking destination. Overall amazing stay, would recommend!

We had an amazing stay at this cozy cabin! The fireplace made it feel warm and inviting, and the hot tub was the perfect way to relax! It was wonderful to spend quality time with family and create lasting memories in such a peaceful setting. Jenna was incredibly responsive and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable retreat!

Perfect quiet place to get away. My friends and I really enjoyed the private location, scenery, and coziness the cabin gave. There wasn’t much to do in the area but the surrounding areas had plenty! Definitely would love to come back around the summer time. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a secluded getaway!

This was the most wonderful stay! I celebrated my birthday with my girlfriends here! Everyone had an amazing time! They said it was a get-together they would remember for the rest of their lives! The perfect setup with lots of beds and seating out on the patio. We spent most of our times outdoors and it was amazing to hang out at the lake! The cottage was very well stacked with all of our needs! I normally travel with my own chef knife and forgot mine but guess what -- I didn't need it because they had a good sharp knife to use! It's those little things that matter! What a wonderful host!! We will definitely be back again!

Had a wonderful weekend getaway. Nicole & Kinsey were highly responsive and went above and beyond to make our visit special. In a secluded location, but still close enough to all the activites in the area. Can't wait to come back in the summer.

We unfortunately seen people complain about this place because of the spiders or the bees, little critters, etc… however it’s a chalet in the woods, cozy and comfy! Nice people all around and we really enjoyed the entertainment of the boats going up and down the channel. Will definitely come back and recommend to others. After coming in for a few days for Work with some co workers. We enjoyed the location so much , that we hope to rent out again during the summer for the lake and perfect view, seems like a good place to relax in the sun.
