Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Macquarie

My dog, boyfriend and I all loved staying at this lovely spot. There was heaps of space for just us 3 and it was well maintained. We loved sitting out on the balcony, particularly my dog, who even opted to sleep out there. The weather wasn't great, so it was especially valuable to be able to enjoy our time inside (though we still did go for some rainy beach walks). It would be great to return, thanks for having us.

We had a great stay for our group of 5 families (8 adults and 8 kids). The bunk was perfect for all the kids and the layout perfect for a large group. Another bathroom would be good but we managed it with the 2. The bedrooms were very comfortable, neat and tidy, towels, great blackout blinds and fans were included in each room. The kitchen appliances were really good. There was a huge double gas oven, a double size outdoor bbq, espresso coffee machine (including a grinder), microwave/grill, dishwasher and large fridge. It had some of the extras like oil salt and pepper, coffee (no tea though) which was good. Having a large outdoor dining area and dining table was good to allow the children and adults to sit separately for our large group. The games shelf was great to entertain all the kids and tv and internet access to netflix and fetch. There was plenty of parking + double garage. Kylie was very generous giving a us free late checkout. Overall it was a very pleasant stay

Very thoughtful attention to detail with lights and aircon on for our arrival. Delighted to find tea and oil and extras in the kitchen and lovely shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. My grandchildren loved the books and board games . The position beside a park , shops including a coffee shop , butcher , bakery and IGA and bottle shop was ideal for a visit. Felt very welcome and personalized . Will return !!

Lovely place with four bedrooms next to the national park and a lovely walk through the bush to the beach. Elizabeth was a fantastic host with clear instructions and super friendly.

Had a wonderful stay! The space was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. Nicolas was incredibly welcoming and quick to respond to any questions. The location was perfect, close to beaches. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!

What a spectacular place. Fantastic location, very spacious apartment, and wonderful hosts. The hosts added air conditioning throughout the apartment during our stay and that only made it better! We will most definitely return.

We loved our stay in Donna's apartment. The apartment was spotless clean, spacious, beds are comfy and the views are amazing! Donna was friendly, responsive, great hostess. Thank you and i look forward to the next time

Definitely suited our purposes & was very convenient to step out for dinner on Darby Street. Downside was the parking. Allocated space was taken by other vehicles more than half the time, it was difficult to find street parking close by on a weekend. Bedside light on only one side of the bed in main bedroom. Loved the quirky touches & retro feel.

We had a great stay at Jonathan's apartment. Easy check-in and everything we needed for our little one and us to unwind and relax. Well located with private access to the beach and only a short stroll to the shops. Absolutely recommend!

Steve was incredibly good to communicate with which made our stay easy and pleasant. lovely area with lovely views!

Beautifully presented apartment with everything we needed to relax. Kitchen stocked, even had bread, eggs and butter so we didn’t need to go shopping right away. Amazing balcony with rocking chairs and outdoor eating. Nespresso coffee machine with pods provided (which we made good use of!). Kira was very accomodating, helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!

Overall, a good place with wonderful views of Broken Bay and the Pacific Ocean, and West St Umina. The place is tucked away in the hills area, so you will need a car or put yourself on the bus which stops outside. The property is located down a steep driveway. Inside it has sunken downstairs bedrooms and above is a well appointed and stocked kitchen and lounge area. The shower is great for couples who like different temperature with its dual nozzle system. Bedding is comfortable. Tip for new stayers, there is a second oil heater behind the wood heater which we discovered on checkout. Paul is a supportive host that offers flexibility.

Melanie’s place was a wonderful oasis for Xmas. It was spacious, bright and there were so many little Xmas touches which was great as we were away from home during the Xmas period. There was a Xmas tree, decorations, even a Xmas soap. The kitchen was fantastic for Xmas cooking and there was a well stocked pantry. Loved the fact that there were lots of cooking trays for our Xmas feast. There were two bottles of complimentary local wine. Perfect for Xmas lunch. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was hot with great water pressure. The location was wonderful. A short walk to Newcastle Beach and the newly reopened Newcastle baths. Lots of restaurants and cafés close by. A short walk to the mall and shops, supermarkets etc. Great walking distance to the fireworks on the foreshore Xmas Eve. The ‘safe’ with books and games was a quirky feature. We had a wonderful festive season in this beautiful space. Thank you so much Melanie.

Our stay at Keran's beautiful apartment was wonderful. The location of the apartment is right near Newcastle Beach with off street parking included. It's about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Newcastle where there are many restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from. The apartment itself is stylish, spotlessly clean and Keran kindly provided lots of extras with delicious sourdough bread, fruit and chocolates. We would love to come back and spend a few days at Keran's apartment next year to enjoy the city surrounds and walks and the beautiful space that is Laneway Lodgings.

Absolutely beautiful. So clean, spacious, light and airy. We loved our stay. I highly recommended staying here.

Good sized villa, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and air-conditioning in each room which helped on a hot humid day. lovely and clean place with a lovely view of the lands. Excellent proximity to some of the best wineries in the Hunter Valley.

We had an excellent stay at this Airbnb! Connie was absolutely fantastic—she went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed, always responding quickly and efficiently. When we accidentally left some belongings behind, she kindly posted them back to us without hesitation. The home itself was beautiful, comfortable, and well-maintained. We couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Great accomodation. Has all the relevant amenities. Heated pool was clean. The walk back from beach/shops was a little steep but worth it and only 3m. Thank you Wendy and Alison for being great hosts. We will definitely come back
