Family-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Buchanan

Well equipped, comfortable, and spotless place… location is very peaceful and serene… Overall we had a great stay! Few nitpicks to note: 1. Hard to comprehend from pictures alone how low the lake is. There really is no lake access at this time. 2. Not sure I would call “private”. Hosts live upstairs and have a full view of the patio area. Not an issue for us (and hosts are unobtrusive and very friendly) but could be for some 3. I’m very picky about light bulbs so this is a personal preference, but the light bulbs are very bright white LEDs which, in my view, takes away from an otherwise warm space.

The Old Stick Farm is a hidden gem! The place is beautifully arranged with eclectic furniture and decorations that give it a unique, cozy ranch vibe. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, making it easy to relax and unwind. The goats were a highlight, especially for the kids—they had so much fun interacting with them! If you're looking for a charming and comfortable stay with a touch of fun, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

Living Water is a gem among gems! Simply walking the property and exploring the villa was an enjoyable experience- there is so much to see. The villa felt like a dream-home. If you see an opportunity to stay at this home, TAKE IT! Finally, the owner Travis was the perfect host. he reached out well ahead of my stay to offer assistance and suggestions, and was available on the day of my arrival when I needed him.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter’s 15th birthday! The house is fabulous with so many unique things to look at- tastefully eclectic. Loved the fire pit, swings, and hot tub. Bonus buffalo and longhorn photo ops!

Condo was perfect for 2 couples. It is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed + more for our 4 night stay. Georgeous views from the balcony!

Love this hidden little Hill Country gem of a place! Hosts greeted us & gave clear instructions prior to arrival. Friendly goats & chickens! Lots of variety of birds! Really enjoyed the climb down to the hidden deck at the creek. So grateful Patti & David shares their little slice of Heaven with others!

This place is a great quiet getaway in the hill country of Texas! Did I mention it is quiet?! Very peaceful to sit on the huge deck area and relax and just listen to the sounds of nature. Johnson City is a cool little town and Fredericksburg is about 30 minutes away. Highly recommend if you are looking to unplug and Janet’s place is a great place for couples and we were able to bring our Labradoodle along with us. Just can’t recommend her place enough.

It’s our third year staying here and we just love the charm of the house ! The location is perfect and it’s an easy walk to the restaurants and light display ! Wilma is a fabulous host as well . We can’t wait to come back next year !

Great place to stay! The host was very responsive and accommodating. The house was clean, spacious, and had all the kitchen supplies needed for a full weekend. Also, the location is amazing and the views are incredible! Highly recommend staying here.

Our family had such an amazing time staying here! The beds were very comfy, and we loved waking up and eating breakfast next to the river. Even though the house is old, the lakefront view is the best feature of this property.

Gayle was extremely helpful for the whole process. She was very quick to respond and accommodating. I took my grown twin daughters, and my niece and their families and their two weenie dogs. It was very comfortable. We had plenty of room. The view was great from the deck. The fence in the area out front was great for the little weenie dogs. We loved the back shower! Thank you for the hospitality!

When waking in it felt welcoming. We felt comfortable there the whole time. Didn't have any problems while staying there. The only thing I could recommend is maybe put small labels on the switches. (There's quite a few lol) The bed was hard but soft at the same time but comfortable. We really felt at home. Very easy access to the pool. Beautiful view from the patio. Loved going in and out the drive seeing all the deer and bucks. Very beautiful area. We would def stay there again.

Beautiful place. Beautiful views We loved the amenities with two really nice pools. 15 -20 minutes to cute spots to eat. Host was great with all the suggestions. The unit was nicely stocked and they did not expect us to clean just pick up and take out trash. We loved our time here, it was the perfect space for our two families with teens.

Our family had a very enjoyable stay over Spring Break. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed, and the pool and hot tub on site were fantastic. Location was perfect for exploring the beautiful Texas hill country, but was offered great proximity to town as well. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone considering it.

Awesome place, good for big groups - great view of the lake from the back porch. Very peaceful place. Our group had a nice time, if you want to get away from the city things a great place for it.

We've stayed at 10 different airbnb's this year and this place was by far the best! From the spacious secluded backyard to the extra amenities throughout the home. We loved spending the holidays here. Their family decorated the place for Christmas to make it feel like a loving home. We come to Austin several times each year and look forward to coming back!
