Chalet vacation rentals in Kuusamo

The beautiful log cabin is located in the middle of the forest, with few neighbors and therefore great privacy. In a few minutes you can reach a lake and by car you can quickly reach the main road, which leads in all directions. In Ruka, about 5 km away, there are many opportunities to participate in outdoor activities. You will be looking for "ruka fi", we tested some and were very happy with the value for money. With the help of the Aurora app, we could even find the right evening & capture aurora lights with the cell phone camera. We had booked the place some time in advance and Ulla answered all our questions in a timely manner and thus contributed to the success of a great stay. We fully recommend the place. The Lappländer we met were all very friendly & accommodating. We loved the vast & manageable number of people, away from mass tourism. Christmas in the snow is simply magical.

Our group's week-long stay at the listing was very successful. A big thank you to Matt, who was very hospitable and thorough in all of our communication. A personal farmhouse near Suomutunturi found everything we needed. Strong recommendation :)

The apartment is exactly as beautiful as in the photos. The sauna was great to warm up in the evening after the cold icy day. The fireplace made some effort on the first evening. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response the next day, with reading through the instructions on AirBnb we did it. The bed linen costs extra. Per person 18 Euro. We are used to fitted sheets but here there were only 2 single towels for the large bed. To turn the heater up a little, you should write to the host. When we did, we didn't get a response. It was warm enough with the fireplace. However, the bedroom has always stayed a little fresh at night. Nevertheless, it is a wonderfully beautiful place to stay and we would definitely come back here.

We had a great stay in Ruka. The atmosphere was very cozy and quite. We enjoyed the free fire place and sauna. The kitchen was well equiped and big enough to cook our meals. For sure you need a car but then everything is nearby - supermarket, restaurants (the pizza at Pizzaria Ruka is very good), national park, etc. We can recommend the Airbnb!

Amazing home! Beautiful log cabin decorated with elegant atmospheric design. Very well-equipped kitchen in the cottage. The location is excellent. Great for a family with children.

Lovely atmospheric place to relax while you work. Pillows and blankets of high quality and a good mattress in the sofa bed if you don't want to clumsy to the loft. (this slightly tricky place) Very clean and modern, well-equipped. I loved it and will definitely book again. Affordable!!!!!

Gorgeous cabin nestled next to a gorgeous lake. We had a great few days in the cabin. The house was very well cared for, very well equipped and had all the necessary things. It is very cozy. It also had a couple of sleds with which the girls enjoyed a lot in the icy lake. The location is perfect for activities in the area. Communication with the owners was excellent; during the stay I asked them several things and they always responded very quickly. I also asked things before the trip and they always answered great. All in all, a highly recommended place to stay.

Teemu is a kind and excellent host. When we asked him something he responded very quickly and all the instructions he gave us were very clear and handy. The cabin was everything we hoped for and more. The rooms were very clean and the kitchen had lots of utensils available. The living room was very, very cozy and had a lovely fireplace with plenty of wood available. From the cabin we had a nice view on a frozen lake and we could even see the northern lights from there (use the aurora app for alerts!). When you walk outside you can instantly start your cross country adventure along the amazingly well maintained tracks that run throughout the whole wide area of Ruka. You can easily reach the town that way as well as the amazing Kontaiinen area and more. A rental car is advisable if you don't have your own, as the public transport is tricky. You can park in front of the cabin and we found rental cars to be cheaper than we expected. All in all, everything was just perfect!

The Villa was in a pristine condition by lake Vuosselinjärvi. We had a dreamy stay - amazing for a peaceful vacation in Ruka. The higlights were the Sauna, boat, fishing and swimming in the lake. I couldn’t recommend it more. Piritta was very responsive and sweet. The stores and restaurants are easily accessible from the villa. We loved it - definitely coming back next July!❤️

Nice place! Photos match the reality well. Only the stairs on the loft were very steep, which is worth noting when traveling with young children. Otherwise, no reproach!
