A dream of a Cycladic house overlooking the sea

Welcome to Greece, to my home! It's a family home, typically Cycladic. It belonged to my grandparents and I tried to keep the spirit, while adapting it to the demands of today's life. A village house, accessible by a charming staircase, it is totally protected from road noise. Facing south, (very important, because sheltered from the meltemi, north wind that blows in bursts all summer), it overlooks Klima, a picturesque fishing village (20 min walk and 3 min drive) and the entire inner bay. Very quiet environment of Greeks who live there all year round and who must be respected. Terraces where you can have breakfast and enjoy the fiery sunsets. Inside, a first large common room, kitchen, living room with a small sofa, shower room and toilet, a beautiful bedroom with its "doulapi" (closet) included in the wall. The ceilings have remained traditional, beams and kalami recently whitewashed and whose virtue is to protect from noise and heat, but not from mosquitoes, spiders and insects that can visit us despite the constant care taken to keep the house clean! Despite everything, even if we are very close to the sea, we are also in the Greek countryside, that of olive trees, cypresses, and a typically Cycladic flora; the song of cicadas and crickets, at nightfall. With in the distance, the bells of sheep and the braying of a donkey. This will make your stay exotic and I hope unique!

The apartment is only 600m from the port. 50 m away from the house there is a traditional greek tavern . Supermarket, bakery and other shops are available a fev metres away of the house. Such a beautiful location. We loved staying in Plaka. We rented a car and the big parking lot is a pretty easy uphill walk. It was pretty difficult to find the house when we first got there but after we learned where it was once (a nice shop owner helped us), it was so simple after that. Mariela gave very clear instructions but it takes experience sometimes to get the hang of it. The home was clean and beautiful. I will say the bed was kind of hard and uncomfortable but there is a pillow top for you to use which was PERFECT. Every night we slept great and the space was perfect for us. Thank you Mariela so much! We loved our stay!

The location was perfect to explore the island. It was 10-20 minutes at most to all of the beaches and points of interest around the island. The apartment was spotless and comfortable for our group of 3 people. It was very quiet at night and in the mornings. The host provided local recommendations quickly when we asked. Overall a great stay and worth the price.

It is a stunning location and luxurious apartment. We loved celebrating my birthday there. The hospitality team met us, private parking made it very easy in a very popular area, and helped us with our luggage to the apartment. The views were incredible! Sunsets we will never forget. The location is close to Plaka main shops and restaurants, and a close walk to Trypiti which has amazing restaurants too. There are beautiful walks nearby to churches, ancient theatre ruins, and the town of Klima. The rest of the island is highly accessible too and the private parking makes it super easy on return. The apartment was beautiful and spacious. The private balcony was roomy and very comfortable. We bought takeaway cocktails Verina nearby to enjoy with the incredible sunsets on the private balcony with panoramic views. I highly recommend this apartment and would love to return one day!

The place was perfect for my needs. The location was right in the heart of the Plaka and was close all sorts of restaurants and bars, etc. It was very clean and was equipped with everything I needed for my stay. If you have a vehicle, it is a short walk to where parking is available, but it isn't too bad and something you would experience with any place in the Plaka, so it is worth it.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a pretty small space but very cute and has everything you would need. The pool outside was amazing and the views were also really nice. Only con was we felt like we had to be very careful with not scratching the surfaces as they reminded us a few times the material used to paint scratches easily. Overall that didn’t affect our enjoyment of the place very much but something to know when booking this airbnb. Thank you very much to Faye and her mom for providing us an amazing stay and being accommodating to our requests.

Costas was a great, friendly, informative host. He told us everything we need to know about the island; restaurants, beaches, boat tours, places to visit. That was so helpful. Also, the view from the balcony is incredible and its 10 minutes from down town. Generally, Milos is a small island so it'll take you a maximum of 25-30 minutes to go from one side to another. Highly recommend place to visit and property to stay in. Thanks Costas!!!
