Modern spacious bach with contemporary styling and comfortable furniture. Well equipped kitchen and lovely big dining table for eating and games playing. Two outdoor areas for eating/sitting at different times of the day as well and a pretty garden. Situated in a gated park with lovely planting and walkways towards the beach. We enjoyed the table tennis table in the garage and use of the communal tennis court. Adjacent to very pleasant walks through the bush to Whale Bay and around the headland back to Matapouri Bay. The walk to the beach is a good 7-10 minutes but it's a flat and quiet route. None of these properties are fenced so maybe wouldn't be a great choice with a toddler but for us with older children, it was perfect for our family weekend away.

We had a wonderful stay. Spotless. Close to many popular beaches. Great palace to stay if you’re looking to get away. We had a wonderful jog from the house to one of the local beaches to see the sunset.

Nice, clean, well kept room with a gorgeous kitchenette, spacious bathroom & breath taking view. I especially loved the mornings and evenings sitting outside - listening to the birds and soaking in the natural beauty. A peaceful atmosphere where you’re able to unwind and recharge. Vinaka Vakalevu Malcolm and Penelope for being kind and for ensuring we felt right at home upon arrival & during our stay.

To say that the view is impressive is an understatement. The moment you open the front door, the view over the Bay is what makes this an incredible spot to stay. The bean bags, sofas, daybed (my particular favourite for a read) picnic benches on the deck or just reclining in bed, all afford you this fabulous view. It changed every half hour or so, as you're at the centre of a natural amphitheatre you do hear all sorts of sounds from the Tui's, Bellbirds, Kiwis and cicadas, it's constant and glorious. And yes you can hear as cars go by from the ferry, but to even mention that is churlish. As we sat soaking in the view one night the sound of an anchor chain going down was quite distinct and then the puttering of an engine on a boat over half a kilometre away confirmed all was well with the world. It's just a lovely base for popping to Russell and the ferry over to Opua is regular and opens up the rest of the Bay of Islands to you.

It was absolutely amazing. Hands down one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had. Silv and Steve did a tremendous job creating such an unforgettable experience. My partner and I were looking to unwind and enjoy the outdoors, it was exactly that. We had an ATV they let us use to get up to the house, a bowl of dough for pizza and witty Steve to explains bits and pieces of the house. Most of the things inside were made by Silv and Steve, truly incredible wood work! We had so much fun using real wood to cook and to heat the hot tub! They had a big speaker for us to use as well. Night skies were so clear, stargazing was an absolute delight. I hope to come back and stay with them again!

Adelle has an amazing place. You feel so at peace sitting on the deck listening to the sea and hearing the native birds. Her place was beautifully presented with lots of thoughtful extras. Would highly recommend staying here.

One of the things that’s hard about finding a place in a new place is the sense of relative distances. We were further outside of town than we had expected, but man was it worth it. The views down to the bay were spectacular. And being from the northern hemisphere, the night sky is of particular interest. We were lucky with high pressure, so being just far enough outside of town gave us breathtaking star gazing. Jo was so helpful in making suggestions for places to see, quickly able to help us prioritize based on the way we roll, a good mix of walking and driving, a wonderful resource and real hospitality pro. Already looking forward to our next visit.
