Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in India

This was one of the best guest houses we have stayed in. It’s a lovely home and Preethy and her family were really friendly. The room was very clean and even had its own small balcony. The rooftop terrace is surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and a great place to watch the birds flying around while eating the delicious breakfast. This was the first place we stayed in India, and I just hope we can find other places this good.

Comfortably nestled among the lush, pristine greens of Sainik Farms, Suryoday BNB is a must stay for any solo traveller, group, couple or family looking for a retreat from the anarchy of urban living. Suryoday BNB is hosted by Prithviraj, who I found to be warm, friendly and an excellent communicator. The BNB staff is equally professional, courteous and accommodating. Cheers to anyone who reads this review and decides to give this gem a shot — it will be worth your while.

The moment we took the last turn for Devrai and descended down the lane, it felt like going down into a hagg. There it was -- a quaint house with rustling trees all around it. We met the owner, Mr. Atul and had a pleasant introductory interaction before visiting our room for the next two days. The room is situated on the back side of the house, at the end of a quite beautiful staircase (on the -1 level if you will). It had all the necessary amenities and were thoughtfully arranged. Serviceable. My favourite place however, was the wooden deck just outside the room with a gorgeous little table and chairs (I'd urge you to place them facing facing south). The vibe of the whole place turns up during sunset as the winter chill gently arrives with the sunlight lowering slowly. Although extremely peaceful and cozy, it isn't one for complete privacy as such. This is more about the experience of being in touch with nature and a whole lot more. 2 days are simply not enough to xp 5gani & Mahabi.

Amazing location and amazing hosts. If you want to experience peace and serenity, this is the right place. Anshumanji and his wife are great hosts, and the food they prepare is awesome.

The purpose of booking an Airbnb as against a hotel is to experience a home-like ambience and feel cozy, and Anup and Mehak exceeded our expectations! Not just we felt at home, we felt warm and welcomed all along. The hosts stayed in touch with us and called onto check a few days prior to the journey. They kept us posted about the to-do-lists in and around Pondicherry that were very helpful and time-saving for us! They have been responsive and served us special home-made sweets for Diwali alongside refreshing tea! I enjoyed the interaction that we had with them, and the exchange provided great insights about Pondicherry. The room service was great, and their hospitality is top-notch. We will highly recommend Mel Ville for family, couples or solo travellers, and affirm that you will feel at home, safe and taken care of by Mehak and Anup. I wish them a great success! It was the perfect getaway for this Diwali, we traveled with our 3 year old daughter and had the best time of our lives, The accommodation was very clean and is tastefully designed. They provide good quality towels and linen. The kitchen was sufficiently furnished to cook your own meal & tea/coffee. They also provide fresh milk on request with felt like luxury in today's world. The owners (Shylaja, Nandakumar, Udayan & Gouri) are so welcoming. There are private restricted areas, which made me feel like I was visiting my own aunt farm in Gudalur. Udayan was kind enough to take us to his paddy fields where we all got a chance to dip our feet in a stream. The food is simple probably that's why it was so delicious and satiating. The outside space is serene, peaceful and beautiful with some amazing collection of orchids and philodendrons which are visited by many butterflies and birds. Everything and everybody seem to be in total harmony with each other. Cant wait to go back again.

Tranquil Waters is easily the best Airbnb property I have ever stayed at. Photographs on the website simply cannot do justice to how beautiful and comfortable the house is. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. But the real star in the back garden which has a small pool and looks over the backwaters. It was a privilege to wake up every morning and enjoy our coffee looking at the changing vistas and life on the backwaters. Thank you to Neetu, Mr. Jacob, and the property staff for a memorable vacation.

My parents stayed in Mrs Dakshayani's place for a week. She is hard working,humble, great in having conversations and a wonderful women. The residential area is awesome with lot of greenery . I heard from my parents that she cooks delicious breakfast !!!

Great stay . Responsive host which made things even better

Joseph and his wife Nimy were so warm, friendly, helpful and attentive. They have a wonderful building that is quiet ( by urban India standards), yet 2 blocks from the center of Fort Cochin. There are about 10 rooms catering to a diverse international group of guests, Indians included. During our stay the people were fascinating - women in business, India’s top stand up comedian, a retired United Nations lawyer, a trainer teaching local women how to start their own small businesses, and a retired international development professional on a world jaunt. The morning breakfast was the best I’ve eaten at an Airbnb- wonderful fruit, fresh blended fruit juice, yogurt, cereal, a savory hot Indian dish, native blue pea tea, and more, all served on a covered rooftop. It is also close to the Biennale main venues. They were very helpful in arranging an interesting canoe trip in the backwaters, alerted us to a Puja, and helped with arranging transportation as needed. Fair price, good people.

Bishal's place is a heritage property about 10 minutes drive away from Guwahati station. This 2-storied colonial building is located in a prime location of Guwahati, with the mighty Brahmaputra at a walking distance. The bamboo room was tastefully decorated with cane furniture. The host was very responsive. The caretakers were very mindful of our needs and always eager to accomodate us like family members. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Well what an amazing find…… an amazingly clean and pleasant property in a very posh area secured by a security controlled entrance and exit. The property is very clean and we had an upstairs room with own bathroom with plenty of water for bathing. A terrace to relax in and enjoy the birds and parrots whilst overlooking a very well maintained garden area. There was a lady called Juma who ensured our needs were attended to giving us fresh water to drink and making our breakfast each morning. The hosts, Lady Navjot and her husband (Dr Sahib) were amazing hosts sitting with us for breakfast and discussing all kinds of issues, we certainly put the world to rights lol. I would truly recommend this place and hopefully we may be back in October. Thanks for everything and making our stay great. Lalit Majitha

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Meenakshi’s Airbnb! The apartment was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. Mrs Meenakshi was an exceptional host, providing a warm welcome with personal touches. What truly made my stay exceptional was the hospitality and care provided by owner’s and their wonderful team. Mr Tiwari was incredibly kind, attentive, and approachable, going above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. From the warm welcome to the little touches that made the space feel extra special, it was clear how much they genuinely care about their guests' experience. The staff were equally amazing and always ready to help with a smile. Their dedication and effort created such a welcoming and stress-free environment. I had a wonderful stay at Jaideep's place. The room was incredibly clean and the water pressure and temperature was great. I had both breakfast and dinner during my stay of two nights, which I highly recommend. The staff are all very friendly and will do their best to help you out. Jaideep himself was also very friendly and if I ever find myself in India again I wouldn't have to think twice about staying here again.

This place is a beautiful and rather peaceful oasis in the heart of an important part of the city. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, yet is located close to all the happening areas. This is a true airbnb with bed and breakfast included - this is a rare thing in today’s airbnb where breakfast inclusion is not really a thing anymore. The quality of breakfast is also pretty good I must say. Overall must recommend 10/10, I look forward to staying at this location in the future!

Kaushallya aunty thank you much. Absolutely fantastic time in your place. Thank you so much. One of the bestest properties I have had a chance to stay. If you are in search of a home away from home but without the chaos and in the lap of nature, you cannot ask for more. The Aunty made us feel like home within a minute and it kind of enhances every part of the experience. Highly recommended. I can’t be thankful enough for her proactiveness and concerns for our comfort. She has gone out of the way in every essence. Child friendly property so plan without any worry! Overall, it was fab stay! I wish we had planned for few days more. And special mention to the “bhaiya and his family” for helping us with our meals!!

We were at Birdsong for 4 blissful days. The property is tucked away on a quiet lane and ticked off all the boxes. It is a restored old Portuguese mansion with a lot of character. Each of the rooms (we had taken 3 rooms for 8 people) were tastefully furnished, no 2 rooms were the same. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. The property has a lovely, warm lounge/ family area where meals are also served. There is a cosy bar area that we used. For guests who like to read, there is an eclectic collection of books. A very decent size pool that we all enjoyed while the sun was briefly out. The property is surrounded by lush greenery and is close to beaches, restaurants and new airport. Staff at Birdsong really took good care of us. We ended up having two dinners at Birdsong itself, food was delicious and hospitality impeccable. Last but not the least, our hosts Tiya and Arjun, were very warm and responsive and allowed us an early check in and late check out. We will be back soon!

We loved our peaceful stay at Terra, It was so quiet and relaxing. The host is an amazing chef, and the staff were super friendly and helpful, taking care of everything we needed. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a calm getaway with fantastic food!

Subodh's place is extremely clean and feels like a home away from home. More so because the host is an extremely amiable person and does everything to make your stay comfortable. Would recommend to anyone visiting guwahati to stay here. 10/10

Everything was smooth from the point of booking up until we checked out. Gaurab was very accommodating to our requests. Such a beautiful ethnically decorated boutique homestay. Beautiful pool, dining, and living area. Even though the location is in the centre of White Town and close to all the restaurants and shopping area, it still felt very tranquil. We spent 10 days in South India, and the best breakfast was in Shubham prepared lovingly by Gauri. The ladies, Usha and Latha were very helpful and pleasant. We wouldn't stay anywhere else but Shubham when we come back to Pondicherry.
