We loved our stay at this house! Spent two nights in Reykjavik and this was a great spot to walk to everything. Neighborhood felt safe, we let our teens walk home at night by themselves. House was adorable, everything as described and very comfortable. Loved the character and charm of an older home! Bjorn was responsive and I would stay here again. Thanks!

What a wonderful place and in the perfect location for exploring the Golden Circle. The house was plenty big for the eight adults in our group, and we were all able to spread out, but also come together for meals and games. Although we didn’t use it, the hot tub was a great amenity. Our host was wonderful and very responsive when I contacted her with a question before booking and also when I needed to turn off the security system. We would highly recommend staying here.

Hrafn's home was a great place to stay for our first visit to Iceland. Centrally located in Reykjavik, just minutes from the downtown area.

Berglind responded very quickly and provided all the information we needed! The house was very clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Soaking in the hot tub at night was truly relaxing! The host warmly took us to see the horses, which were very friendly. Thank you to the host for giving us a wonderful night in Iceland!

Kjartan's Borgarnes Villa was everything we hoped it would be. The views were amazing, the lake access was enjoyed and the deck time was spectacular!

We absolutely loved every second of our stay at Eugenias beautiful home. From the gorgeous exterior to the perfect layout to the sauna/hottub/cold plunge with the babbling stream running alongside. Magical! The setting was incredibly stunning and was truly one of our favorite views in all of Western Iceland. Close enough to Reykjavik while still feeling a world away. How lucky we felt to call it home each day we returned from exploring. Traveling as a family of five with three young children (9, 7, 6) we were also grateful for the lovely amenities (legos!) that made our time at home extra enjoyable for the kids. Enjoying a coffee each morning with the incredible views of the snow capped mountains was such a treat as was a night of Northern Lights! We've traveled to many Airbnbs across the world and Eugenia tops the list as the most helpful, kind, thoughtful host we've encountered. Being able to stay in her home felt so authentically Iceland and made for the most memorable trip!

It is absolute heaven, the perfect escape to the countryside with a chance of seeing the northern lights over the lake. I would definitely recommend Sigurdur’s place to everyone. Such a fabulous cabin in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hot tub was a bonus. We used it several times during our four nights stay. The cabin was spotlessly clean had every amenity to make us more than comfortable throughout our stay, the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Such a wonderful place, we really didn’t want to leave. Make sure you stock up on groceries when you pass a supermarket (as the nearest one open during our stay was a 25 minute drive) and you won’t want for a thing. We forgot to purchase some sugar for our hot drinks, so Matthias, one of the hosts, called round within a couple of hours with a bag of sugar cubes for us. Amazing service! The horses in the adjoining field were a delight to watch and kept my daughter entertained for hours. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

We had an incredible stay at this cabin! The views were absolutely stunning—like something out of a postcard. The host was super helpful and gave us some great local recommendations, including horseback riding at Laxnes Horse Farm and a visit to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, which was just a 30-minute drive away. We also went snorkeling at the Silfra Fissure, another unforgettable experience not too far from the cabin. The location is very peaceful and secluded, so we’d definitely recommend picking up groceries ahead of time and enjoying meals at the house. The hot tub was a huge highlight—perfect for soaking under the stars! A couple things to note: there isn’t a microwave, which would’ve been a helpful addition, and the hot water had that classic Icelandic sulfur smell, which took some getting used to. Still, this place was an easy 5/5. We’d absolutely stay here again!

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

The peaceful setting was exactly what was needed to unwind after days filled with activity, with stunning views of the rugged landscape and tranquil waters. A highlight of the stay was soaking in the geothermal hot pod while watching the northern lights dance across the sky—an unforgettable experience. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped, making it the perfect retreat. I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a magical Icelandic getaway!

Very very nice place. 30 minutes from Borganes, Arkanes and Hammsvik hot springs. It was amazing to watch aurora and clear sky from the jacuzzi and then warm up at the fire place inside. Thor responded quickly to any question and everything went smooth. Highly recommended and will definitely return back.
