Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Hvalfjarðarsveit

Saw the strongest aurora the night of our stay here! There were no washer and dryer in the house though. Everything else was perfect

Our group of 6 had a fantastic time at the property. It was more modern and well presented than even the pictures showed. The house is really well stocked with herbs and spices and tones of useful and homely bits. The location is stunning and nice and quiet, well situated for non city exploring. Siggi was an amazing host, lots of recommendations and help as you needed. Would highly recommend to anyone considering staying.

Lovely traditional house in great central location….comfortable, warm and well equipped….easy walking to town centre but quiet location. Our second visit and much enjoyed. Highly recommend.

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything was amazing. The water bottles at bedside and the chocolate on the pillows were a sweet touch. The space was perfect for our family. Ursula was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We appreciated the tour books and recommendations that were available. Thank you for your kind hospitality Ursula and Gulli.

Stayed two nights at private house. Cozy, warm and clean house that felt like home. As « Friends» fan I appreciate lots of different staff from the series, like cups, pictures etc) Descriptions was clear and easy to contact with owner, fast dealing with all the questions and issues. Will be happy to stay here again next time

Fantastic villa which catered for our party of 9 including a baby. It had everything we required and Og was so helpful in responding to any queries. Really spacious, clean and warm accommodation. Thanks for providing a base for a very special family holiday

Robert and Iris were amazing hosts. He was there to greet us at check in after an early morning flight and give us a tour of the home, there were some welcome treats, and everything was so clean and cute! We were convenient to downtown without the hecticness, tucked away in a cute little neighborhood. We had an amazing view from the wrap around balcony to the city's fireworks display. It was truly the most amazing location for New Year's Eve. Communication was excellent, going out of their way to assist us with multiple requests and went well above and beyond. We were so appreciative of everything and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was just perfect for our multi-generational family trip.

One of a kind view

Absolutely wonderful house and host. It's a fairly remote location, but that's why you go to Iceland. Only took about 30 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store. The host was awesome, came down to talk to us and led us into the barn to say hi to her horses. I would absolutely stay here again as the place was comfortable and clean and easily fit our group of eight. One thing to note is that two of the bedrooms require that you go outside and walk about 5 m to get to a separate entrance. No big deal at all, even in the rain and wind. but just something people should be aware of.

10/10 recommend. Perfect trip from start to finish. Eugenia is a lovely host. Personable and kind to communicate with via the Airbnb platform. This house is simply incredible. If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland don’t hesitate, you’ll be blown away by the nature, peace and beauty. The house is 45 mins - 1 hour from the airport and Reykjavik. It’s in the middle of the “Golden Circle” where you’ll be able to see many waterfalls, the Geyser etc. It’s a private community of secluded houses in the valley of some mountains. 4x4 recommended as it’s a dirt road for 5-10 mins from the main road. Everything works perfectly in the house. Fireplace, BBQ, well stocked kitchen, all taps had boiling hot and freezing cold water (so refreshing!). Very clean house and felt like home for the week. Jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge were nice perks. You can hike the mountain behind the house and find blueberries. 100% perfect stay for a family or a group of friends. Thank you, Eugenia!

Birgir’s Cabin is full of charm and truly captures the essence of a traditional Icelandic summerhouse. While some elements are slightly improvised, they contribute to the cabin’s authentic character and functionality. The highlight of the stay is definitely the location—adjacent to a hill perfect for hiking, offering stunning panoramic views. Additionally, the morning views of the mountains from the windows are simply beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

STAY HERE. Zoei's home was by far the most beautiful place we stayed our entire trip (12 days) in Iceland. Though somewhat away from other towns, it's not that far and closer than other places we ended up staying while in Iceland. We made a beautiful day trip to Thingvellir National Park but were having such a lovely time at Zoei's home, enjoying the comfortable and beautiful indoors, the hot tub, surroundings, etc. that we prioritized enjoying her home over a nearby hike. We were also tremendously fortunate and had a clear night while there and enjoyed the most spectacular northern lights show - for which her home is perfectly placed to be away from nearby lights and have a huge open sky to enjoy (if clear out). Additionally, Zoei was a generous and responsive host, letting us know what was nearby and where to find things in the home. I look forward to coming back to Iceland and this will be the first place I make sure we are booked to stay, thank you, Zoei!

Beautifuly presented, extremely comfortable cabin in an amazing location with unbelievable views. The cabin has everything required, and we could have easily stayed for multiple nights.

If you're looking to experience peace and quiet while being immersed in Icelandic nature, the Black Cabin on Skorradalsvatn is it! Beautiful cabin that felt so far away from the world, and we were lucky enough to be surrounded by an array of gorgeous fall colors during our time there (with the northern lights making an appearance on our final night!). The cabin had everything we could possibly need, with additional touches that made us feel right at home. Ívar was incredibly responsive, and as DIYers we loved seeing the photos of the cabin before it was renovated.

Wow! The cabin is in the most spectacular location with amazing views. Inside is spacious and well equipped with just what you need, also nice and warm. The outdoor hot pot is a great addition. Instructions to the cabin were easy to follow taking us straight to it. Neighbouring property’s around but the cabin is private and peaceful. Would certainly stay again.

We loved our stay at Tumis place!! Watching the Northern Lights in the hot tub is something I’ll never forget!! The surroundings are stunning a well!

We rented Sara’s place because of the beautiful setting and because we wanted true peace and relaxation and a place to come home each day. We got that and more. It was convenient to Reykjavík. But it also afforded us adventures in several of the surrounding regions – including the majestic Snaefellsnes. Honestly, though we might have never left and been happy still: the view was spectacular and ever-changing. And it was so very quiet. Smartly designed, it met all of our needs perfectly. We cooked delicious meals. Several hot soaks. And slept so comfortably. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
