Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hordaland

Stunning location with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The property matched the description perfectly, and getting there was easy - Google Maps guided us straight to the door, and it’s easily reachable from Bergen Airport. The electric car charging port was a huge plus; we rented an electric vehicle, which saved us a lot on fuel costs. We enjoyed day trips to Bergen, Fedje, and Flam, and taking our toddler down by the water for crabbing. The property is very family-friendly, with plenty of toys and activities to keep children entertained. Our 3-year-old had an amazing time and was really sad to leave. She keeps askings to go back to the holiday home.

This place is amazing private and secluded. The hosts were very responsive. Def worth renting the boat the water was amazing to explore and the boat was very easy to use. We caught so many fish and explored the island. This is perfect for a peaceful getaway with no TVs. The WiFi was very good and there was good phone serve even though you are way out in the woods. 10/10 would recommend.

We were a coworking group that had our second visit to Maria's lovely place. We enjoyed the lovely garden and bathed in the sea just outside the garden. A gem. Definitely recommended

We can highly recommend this accommodation. Everything has a very high standard and Lars-Egil with his wife has really thought of everything and then I mean everything. For example, there are two drawers with outdoor toys, laundry detergent, dish soap, nice towels, kitchen towels, incredibly plenty of dishes, clear instructions, etc. The house is in very good condition and it is more like checking into a hotel with a high standard. We who stayed here are a family with two teenage children.

Great cabin! Big and nice in nice surroundings

We had a wonderful 4 days here in the cabin. The hosts were extremely helpful, the area is stunning and the cabin is perfect. I truly cannot recommend this Airbnb enough, Ann went above and beyond to help us with transport and anything that we had questions on. Fantastic stay, we hope to come back in the future.

Staying here was an incredible experience. My wife and I were in awe of the spectacular views of the tranquil fjord, the snow-capped mountains around us, and the gushing waterfall next to the house. We used the kitchen a lot during our stay and immediately fell in love with it. It is the best stocked airbnb kitchen we have come across. Cooking in it felt so natural and everything was easy to find. The living room was also a highlight- it is spacious and, as the description says, it easily fits several guests but it still felt cozy with only us two. And of course, the hot tub was perfect to relax in on cold and windy evenings as the sun went down. It is clear Hans and Emily have put so much care and thoughtfulness into making this cabin a home for their guests. Their attentiveness extends beyond the house too and when the conditions were right to see the northern lights, they eagerly messaged us to make sure we didn't miss it. Every moment we spent here was a delight.

A bit of confusion when getting in but that was partly our fault. Very quiet and peaceful area. Definitely a well equipped home. Gorgeous on the inside of the cabin. A responsive host

Absolutely perfect place for us with a dog. Quiet surroundings and good hiking opportunities just outside the door. Eldbjør was available for what we needed shortly. We are very satisfied!

Beautiful for a few nights, extremely quiet and beautiful view over the lake. Fully equipped kitchen as well! Bergfrid is very friendly and helpful as well. We were very happy with our stay!

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. We hiked, explored and cycled our surrounding area. The use of bikes was fantastic and the views from the windows were great. The space was always warm. We had an issue with a lot of flies because they had bred in a window frame (which we had opened) but we understand it’s not the owners fault and apart of rural living. If you’re in Vik it’s a great place to stay to be apart of a beautiful location.

Christen met me near Bryggen and pointed out all the eateries and the French bakery along the route. During checkin he provided thorough and helpful about the apt plus a look at a detailed guidebook he designed for area activities, entertainment and dining. Best yet is Jorunn’s lovely apt thoughtfully and tastefully decorated in a 40’s vintage style and feel immediately at home. Spacious with window views of red tiled rooftops and harbor. Period kitchen cabinets and new appliances. China plates, prints, needle point and paintings on the walls with shelves of pottery and plants. Colorful print duvet. Heated bathroom floor. I love Bergen, but this apt was a highlight of my stay.

A lovely house with soul and beautiful surroundings. Well equipped and great kitchen, cozy living room and great bathroom. Spacious bedrooms. Clean and tidy, really cozy house that you felt at home in with it together😀 Extra bonus that we could bring the dogs with us. We would gladly came again. 😉

This was one of the nicest AirBnB's that we've stayed in. Very nicely furnished and nothing lacking in the kitchen - we were easily able to cook meals there. Comfortable bedding with night tables on both sides, and nice furniture for relaxing. Place was easy to find with beautiful views of the fjord from the front porch, with a path going down to the water's edge across the street. Heated floor in the bathroom. Iwona was a very responsive and helpful host. We would stay here again without hesitation!

We had a lovely stay at Kirsten’s place. The apartment is very spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The terrace was beautiful as well. Kirsten’s place was the perfect base to explore Sogndal, Solvorn, and nearby hikes at Molden, Austerdalsbreen, and Nigardsbreen. We would happily stay again. Thank you, Kirsten!

Christer’s home with its outstanding views over the little islands of Oygarden was the picture perfect place to relax and spend time with the family. - clean, modern, bright with everything you could want. It was in addition fantastic to be able to use the fishing boat, BBQ and heated pool, as well as the local recommendations like the swimming sauna! Thank you so much Christer and family - you are truly amazing hosts!

A very nice and spacious, beautiful apartment, not far from the center and with a supermarket literally around the corner. It was an absolute comfortable place for 4 people (including 2 teenagers) and Sara responded quickly and kindly to any questions we had. All in all we had a wonderful stay! We also enjoyed the swimming pool in the building. For NOK 200 pp we had a ticket for 24h. So with a little planning you can use it multiple times. Schedule is different from the website though, so ask at the reception and check the schedules on the doors. Btw: Despite the detailed information about parking/entrance from Sara, we had a little trouble finding the address, because Maps first led us to an address earlier on Tveiteråsvegen and then we also drove past the place, and stranded on the cycle path. Tip: It's at the end of Tveiteråsvegen, but just before the very end, it is the small parking lot on the right (downhill driveway)

Beautiful house and garden. We stayed with our one year old son. He loved the pool, trampoline, raspberries… The house is well equipped and everything works very well. There are some animals (cows, pigs, ostriches, llamas, etc.), nearby on the track towards panorama hotel, which is also fun. We had a great time :)

Villa med panoramautsikt is a very beautiful spacious retreat nestled in the hills of Fusa Commune. We travelled by car easily from Bergen via a short ferry. The house is well equipped for winter and summer with sauna, swimming pool, barbecue area & lots of space inside & out to relax. The area has very beautiful walks & we were lucky to find a small local shop open on a Saturday- Eikhaugen Gjestegard - for delicious cinnamon buns & coffee and some great food gifts! Jorunn was very helpful with information before we arrived, very welcoming & the house was clean & very comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

The stay at Ina's was pleasant. She is easy to reach and was very friendly. The location of the apartment was great, and you can go on beautiful hikes!

We cannot say enough good things about Kjetil’s place! From the minute we walked in it felt like home. It was so clean and modern with any amenities you could think of. My kids loved all the toys (and the outdoor swing!) and all the space. The view of the fjords (and sheep!) were amazing. We loved all the water equipment provided including the paddle boards, motor boat, hot tub, and canoe. The kids loved having movie nights on the projector screen. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the black out curtains. It was also such a peaceful location, but we loved walking to the garden center cafe, around the property, and driving to the town close for the museum. I actually don’t think the pictures do the place justice, it is so beautiful in person! 10/10 recommend and we would love to come back!

Loved our stay so much we returned two years later for ONS. Business trip for 4-5 and made for a great base for the event, and close to the entertainment each evening while allowing us the ability to keep on top of our work and hold wrap up and 2025 planning meetings.
