Cottage vacation rentals in Hilton Head Island

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery! The porch swing bed was a particular favorite of ours! The firepit with string lights was amazing! Missy was quick to respond when we had questions, and had great recommendations for the area!

Lauren’s place was absolutely beautiful and unique plus sparkling clean and so comfortable. One of the best Airbnbs we have stayed in! Out of a storybook, she has truly thought of every detail. In addition to the beautiful interior, the front porch is amazing and back yard with pool, hot tub, sauna, and outdoor shower is phenomenal! Lauren is a friendly, responsive and thoughtful host. Any need or question was responded to immediately. 10 out of 10- Highly recommend staying here! Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Love this place. Wish I could transport it to beach front but the pool, hot tub, firepit, porch swings and atmosphere were outstanding. Took advantage of bikes and beach chairs. This place has everything you could want in a beach cottage. Missy was wonderful. We had a huge change of plans and she responded very quickly to a same day request.

Stayed for 2 nights and everything went great. Unit has everything you need for a short/long term stay. The location was awesome and close to a lot of things downtown. Rooms were clean and as advertised in the description. Sai was very responsive and respectful.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beach cottage! It’s the perfect cozy retreat for a couple needing some alone time. The attention to detail throughout the property truly delighted us, making our stay both comfortable and memorable. The location couldn’t be better—close to the beach yet tucked away from the crowds. Getting around was so convenient with the golf cart provided by the owners, making every restaurant, shop, and attraction just minutes away. One of our favorite features was the outdoor setup. The hot tub area is a dream, complete with a twin-sized daybed swing and a TV. We had so much fun watching movies in the hot tub, and when it got too warm, we’d hop out and relax on the swing. It’s such a unique and thoughtful addition that made our time there extra special. If you’re looking for a charming getaway with all the right touches, this beach cottage is a must!

This is our second time staying at the Salty Mermaid. We hope it is not our last! The place is perfect for the family - even the guys loved the bed swings on the front porch and the added swing near the pool! We requested the pool be heated during our stay (added reasonable cost). We love adventuring out to the beach or into Savannah and coming back to jump in to pool followed by a dip in the hot tub then chatting around the fire pit. Makes for a perfect ending to fun days! Our Thanksgivings at the Salty Mermaid aren’t the traditional turkey fest, but an outdoor grilled feast that may be becoming a new tradition! The place is set up for easy meals but Missy lists several island restaurants nearby. Working out the details with Missy was a breeze! Thank you, Missy, for our new Thanksgiving holiday tradition home away from!

The location was incredibly convenient, we were able to walk everywhere! The house was cozy and thoughtfully arranged, with attention to even the smallest details. It made our stay comfortable and truly enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We had such a great time staying here for our thanksgiving trip this year. We were a little worried about staying a bit further away from Savannah than we normally do but it turned out to be perfect and just a little quick drive to downtown. The place is exactly as described and Molly was always extremely responsive and just overall the stay was incredible.

As soon as you walk in the door the cares of the week fade away; relaxing music playing and soft lighting on in each room invites you to come in, relax and feel at home. Beautifully decorated and everything you need has been thoughtfully provided. We enjoyed using the fireplace. Peaceful area with scenic views including the property's well maintained yard filled with numerous flowers and plants. Hosts were friendly and welcomed us and said goodbye as we were leaving. Our dog enjoyed roaming the property too. We're already making plans to return.

This was the second time my family stayed at Mary’s place, and once again it was an amazing stay…beautifully decorated, perfect location, clean, and I love the new fence! Definitely will be back…again!

Fantastic little cabin on the river! Had every little thing we could need and the location was perfectly situated in a remote-ish rural area, but very close to shops, restaurants, movies, grocery stores, etc. The pups had a great time running around the big enclosed yard, too! The bed in the loft was incredibly comfortable and the shower was nice n’ hot with awesome water pressure. Smart TV was great, sun room was a nice place to have morning coffee, and the kitchen table was perfect for a board game or eating a home-cooked meal. Communication with host was super fast and friendly! All around a really wonderful experience! Stellar stay 🤙

One of the best AirBnbs we’ve stayed at. Feels like a five star hotel. Amazing walkable location. We felt right at home and enjoyed having our coffee on the screened porch and walking to town for dinner. Alyssa’s recommendations were great! The wifi went out briefly on our first day and Alyssa was so responsive to get us back online.

Matthew was a great host. He was very responsive and communicative through the entire process. Would definitely book with Matthew again in the future.

Robs place is a perfect for a beach getaway (especially if you have dogs). Easy walk to the beach in a peaceful neighborhood. Rob was extremely responsive and friendly. Would def stay again!

Spectacular property! So much to see and do in Bluffton. We plan to be back!

We loved this home for our long weekend. It's absolutely adorable. It was so clean and still has that new house smell which, as a housekeeper, I greatly appreciate. It's very tastefully decorated. My children enjoyed taking turns in both of the smaller bedrooms and my husband and slept great in the master bedroom. That big soaking tub is just what a tired momma needs. The kitchen was well appointed and we found everything we needed and then some. Morning coffee on the front porch was nice. My senior dog also found it to be very comfortable and he liked the fenced yard when he wasnt sleeping. We saw deer behind the back fence. The house was close to the beautiful historic area and an easy drive to Hilton Head. Take bug spray. The mosquitos in Bluffton are the biggest I've ever seen. It happens when you are close to a creek. We loved having a comfortable landing pad when we werent celebrating our son and nephews birthdays. We would absolutely return to Amy's home.

Our stay at this rental home was fantastic. The location was perfect—just a short walk to a beautiful beach with clear waters. Renting a golf cart made exploring the area a breeze. The spacious and comfortable home provided ample room for our group, with a layout that felt like a true home away from home. Highly recommend this place for a great beachside retreat with plenty of nearby activities!

We loved our stay! We decided on a staycation in our hometown of Bluffton as a way to kick off the Holidays with our kids. The home was cozy and clean. Kevin was super helpful and responsive. Can’t beat the location- a few quick blocks to the water, our favorite, The Pearl, right next door, and the park right around the corner. If you’re looking for a laidback weekend with some of the best Bluffton has to offer at your fingertips, look no further! We will be back again!

We had a great time in the Hilton head area. We had a problem with the internet but Caroline took care of it. My husband rented a kayak and enjoyed fishing the May River. So peaceful Just what we needed. Thank you Caroline.

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing week at Michael's place! So easy to come and go and there were plenty of thoughtful touches like the beach gear, beach towels, extra pillows and blankets, and we'll stocked kitchen essentials.
