Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hikkaduwa Beach

I had an amazing stay at Gayan’s house ! The house is very big, everything is clean, well maintained. I work online and the fiber works very well, it was the perfect. The bedrooms are comfortable with everything needed, the kitchen is well equipped. The neighbours come clean the house and the garden once a week, they are very helpful and nice !! I just recommend this place 100% if you want to enjoy the beautiful south coast of Sri Lanka !! You will feel like home, but in paradise 😍

We stayed for one month and had the best time. The Takamaka Tree is a real delight to stay in. It’s far enough from the hustle and bustle but still a 10min walk or 5 min scooter ride to the middle of Ahangama, and is part of a lovely, friendly local community. The house itself is incredible, with two great bedrooms, a very open living space and good kitchen. For us, the giant roof terrace surrounded by jungle sights and sounds was our favourite spot.

We spent three nights at Anna’s place as a family of 3, with a 5 year old. The villa is in a really good location - a 20 minute walk from the main road of restaurants and Unawatuna beach, so away from the hustle and bustle and noise at night (save for the odd wild barking dog!) We found that tuk tuk drivers were reluctant to pick up in the jungle up here using pick me or uber so we either walked or flagged one down if one drove past on the off chance. To overcome this we took peoples numbers on return journeys from dinner and text to see if they were around to pick up! Anna is an attentive and super friendly host and always on hand to answer questions via the app. Her mother in law Sujatha always welcomed us with a smile when we returned to the villa. She also turned the lights on outside the villa for our return for the evening and moved our washing out of the rain when we left it which we thought was super cute. Mif's villa is a real gem in Galle and gave our family the space we needed to have an enjoyable time in Galle with our kids. The villa is a beautiful old building and the rooms are well renovated and extremely clean. What makes this place so special is the wonderful care and attention given by Fayaz. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable. We enjoyed chatting to him about a range of topics and he was always so friendly to the kids. During our time in Galle we had organised for a Sri Lankan friend to visit us, and Fayaz provided a beautiful afternoon tea for us to share with our friend. Lots of lovely little touches like this made for a very memorable time in Galle! Thank you Mif, Fayaz and the team!

We had an incredible stay at Dilan’s place in Sri Lanka! Traveling as two families, the pool quickly became a daily highlight for both kids and adults—it was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, and equipped with plenty of amenities that made our stay easy and enjoyable. Safety was never a concern, and the location was convenient, with many great restaurants nearby. What truly set this experience apart was Dilan’s outstanding hospitality. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering helpful recommendations and always being available when we had questions. It felt like we were genuinely cared for throughout our stay. A special highlight was the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast prepared by Dilan’s family—it was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We can’t recommend this place enough and will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you, Dilan, for making our trip so special!

Thank you Liyanage for his beautiful Villa! We spent wonderfully time with my family in this house and green, quite and absolutely amazing territory. The owner was very helpful and answered all our questions at any time of the day. We definetly recommend this place for staying with children or friends.

Kalini's very spacious house with its wonderful garden is very close to the seaside which is a bit off the beaten track. We, and especially the children, particularly enjoyed Pollihena beach, which is just a 8 min cycle ride from Kalini. The house is well furnished and equipped. The support from Kalini's father was particularly great: he was on hand to give us tips and contacts, brought us fruit, and was overall very helpful.

We had a fantastic time staying at the villa. our hosts, Raju and Francesca, were very friendly and responsive to any queries. We loved the villa's location. It was a short walk uphill from unawatuna beach, and very peaceful. We could spot monkeys outside the kitchen, and cute birds and squirrels. Our villa was clean and although being in the jungle, no bugs or mosquitos were inside. The kitchen facilities were also great and we enjoyed cooking there. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will visit again!

We were extremely happy with everything. It’s was the perfect location if you like to live in the center with a sea view. Ann was a great host and Manu was always helpful and kind. You live above an amazing restaurant that we highly recommend. When we visit Ahangama next time we will definitely try to book Anns place again. We give her and the apartment the absolute best recommendations.

The villa matches the description exactly. The owner of the villa and his family are incredibly helpful and polite people. We are glad that we stopped with them. Our stay was completed with all amenities and comfort.

We really loved our stay in the apartment. It's very nicely designed and has everything that's needed. Also, we really enjoyed cooking in the outside kitchen. The place has a nice working area if you ever need to be productive. Eva was a great host. She was there for us all the time and helped us a lot with everything. The beach is very close and several shops aren't far away.

Our stay at Pramod's place with my family was fantastic! He is truly an incredible host, always attentive to our needs and ready to help with anything we required. His kindness and generosity exceeded all expectations, from assisting with our late check-in due to a delayed flight to helping us organize various trips around the area. The apartment is fantastic, always clean and located in a convenient area for any interest. I highly recommend staying with him so an unique experience !

I stayed at Ananda's place for 5 weeks. The place is great! It was extremely clean upon check in. The place is spacious, exatly like the photos. The bed is very comfy with mosquito net. The wifi is strong and stable, perfect for remote working. They also have a small shop where you can get basic stuff such as water, cookies, soap, etc. Very convenient. The location is good. You can walk to the beach, 10-15 min. Ananda and his wife Malika are super host. Very sweet and atentive, they took care about everything so my stay was perfect. Malika is an excellent cook. She cooks absolutely delicious Sri Lankan food for a very reasonable price (way cheaper than any restaurant). It was without any doubt the best local food I tried in Sri Lanka. Definetly a must try! I recommend the place 100%! :)

My wife and I just spent two weeks here, and let me tell you, it was fantastic! Eva is an amazing host—seriously, she's a gem among hosts. The place is so quiet at night that we only hear the sound of the waves. The beach is perfect and wide, just made for sunbathing and beach strolls. The Wi-Fi is not lightning fast, but hey, it's probably faster than my coffee-making skills in the morning! Wooden house—it gets pretty hot during the day, but we were wandering around, so it did not matter that much. Plus, there are plenty of hammocks outside to lounge in. And I have to mention the monkeys! They’re jumping around like they own the place. Just observe, don’t expect them to be your buddies, they’re pretty shy. It’s very secure. The towels are clean, and the bedding is fresh, too. If anything comes up, Eva is nearby and ready to help. We had planned to stay in Ella, but it is so nice here that we simply spend all our nights here.

Ranjit has a beautiful, charming home in the heart of Galle Port. We were so fortunate to be able to stay with him and his wife, they were both lovely and very accommodating, greeting us with tea and great conversation. Highly recommend staying with Ranjit, we are looking forward to coming back one day for a longer stay!

Lovely place to stay at! Very clean, comfortable and private. The hosts were really welcoming and even served us some tea and cakes after our arrival. Also Nihal would help us with any questions we had and gave perfect recommendations for the area. Would definitely recommend staying here!!

Very spacious place and very clean. Padma and her family are nice, very flexible with check-in and check-out and went out their way to meet our needs. Great place and very well equipped kitchen. It’s next to the main road which is very loud but you can’t hear it too much from the bedroom. The secret beach is only 30 seconds walk away!!!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Natalie’s. Both leading up to our stay and during, Natalie was always so super helpful, responsive and friendly, making our stay in Weligama all the more enjoyable! Fantastic apartment, perfect for our stay! I highly recommended Natalie and I will most certainly be looking forward to staying at her lovely apartment again! 💕☀️

Great place to stay. Host is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location is not so close to beach but you can rent scooter here or use Tuktuk that also available on the property.
