Eiko House: Just outside Sendai City. The entire house is rented.

Mari-san has a beautiful renovated home to stay at. Not too far from Sendai and Yamagata, for the adventurous traveller with a car this place it is perfect! I would recommend a car for this location as the train station is about a 15 minute walk, possibly more with luggage. In the warmer months this is doable but in the winter months I would consider comfort!

Let's enjoy Japanese farmer's life! apple

TheofilusRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Kazue-san was very nice! She even helped me plan a schedule to let me have the most fun possible in the limited time I was there. The room was filled with life, like a room you'd actually live in, and everything is very very clean and comfortable, feels like coming back to your own room back in your family home. The futon was very soft, smells nice, and very clean, probably the best bed I've ever slept in. She also prepared a delicious apple juice from her own farm, and prepared a warm, hearty breakfast for me in the cold morning. The bathroom is also very clean, and are arranged in the traditional Japanese style with a changing room, washing area, and bathtub. The toilet is a modern one like the ones you can find in Tokyo. If I go there again I will definitely be staying a lot longer!

Gaodai's heartwarming home

I was impressed by the very polite service. The accommodation is beautiful and the bathroom and restroom are clean. It was also well equipped with amenities such as toothbrushes and cotton swabs. Please note that the upper bunk of the bunk bed can get quite hot if you sleep with the heating on. Other than that, it was a great environment.

Just 10 minutes to Ginzan Onsen, with Tokurako Onsen bathing ticket | Simple breakfast & dinner included

NAOMIRating, 5 stars1 month ago
It was my first time visiting Ginzan Onsen where all the accommodations were sold out. Then I found this airbnb as my planB, quite a vintage style Japanese house which is in between Oishida train station and Ginzan Onsen. (Closer to Ginzan, 10mins by uber. Taxi expenses are unavoidable if you don’t drive.) The host is very kind and generous. Her response via airbnb chat was quick and she’s fluent in Japanese, Chinese & English. She gave us tickets to a nearby public bath since there’s only a small shower in the room. Since we checked in quite late after seeing Ginzan Onsen and visiting nearby public bath, she kindly prepared dinner even at 9pm. Miso hotpot was delicious with a generous portion of locally grown vegetables & pork, and rice. Also the breakfast meal kit was well prepared inside the room (toast, milk, fruit juice, eggs, bacon…) The room has a microwave and mini oven. It is bigger than the photo, also with a spacious luggage room where you can use as a secondary room.
