My boyfriend and I spent five nights here for my 22nd birthday and it did not disappoint. The photos on here do not do the place justice and the local area is just the right amount of quiet busy also with an abundance of restaurants and bars. We didn’t get a hire car as we managed with the local buses as they are so much cheaper and we were able to get to beaches such as Saridari and Paralia Psaromoura, which we would recommend. We also would highly recommend a boat tour to Dia island if you are able too. Restaurant wise in Gournes we cannot recommend Nami Restaurant enough and it is a must! The beach opposite is a lovely shallow beach but we aware it can be quite windy hence why we explored other beaches - would advise if u go to these beaches you leave early (especially if u want a sun lounger)! Already missing this place and Giorgo of course. All the best, Millie and Nathan :))

Safe neighborhood! Shop 1 min! Delicious coffee in coffee shops! Very spacious and clean apartment! There is everything you need: a washing machine, an iron, a hairdryer. Bus stop nearby. Clean and spacious. The only thing that can scare you is that the apartment is on the first floor and the entrance to the apartment is not from the staircase, but directly from the street, but the neighborhood is safe, so you shouldn't worry about it. The host was wonderful, friendly! Check out at 12:00 - just great. I recommend it!

Brand new, spacious, and luxurious - staying at City Lion was an absolute treat. The place was beautiful, the bed super comfortable with high quality linens, the bathrooms were spotless and tastefully designed, and with 3 (!) balconies, it was great to have coffee and lounge in the open air. Location was perfect - smack down in the center, literally a few steps away from Heraklion's main avenue, the market, restaurants, shops and all the landmarks - yet really quiet and removed from the city bustle. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, making sure we had all we needed, available at all times and always with a smile. Additional services from local businesses were available to order, like spa treatments, hair styling, and food delivery (we ordered good burgers and desserts, very reasonably priced, and delivered to our apartment). Self check in and out were a breeze, with clear, detailed instructions provided ahead of time. Highly recommended! Thanks Christos & City Lion team
