Cottage vacation rentals in Helvellyn

Rented this for my stepson. He was very happy with accommodation and said it was very clean and tidy and had everything he needed. He would definitely recommend staying there.

Felt like home away from home! Great location, cosy, warm and clean cottage. Particularly I would praise the fully equipped kitchen to cook. The fireplace, the comfy beds, we loved the area and surroundings ( and the bower inn pub just 5 min driving!)!!!!! For us it was a 9.5 out of 10! Not the 10 because we love Netflix and there wasn’t a smart tv to watch other channels rather than cable tv in the evenings, but everything else was perfect, fully recommend it and we will be back!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous Air BnB, as described and photographed. Fantastic location and the host was wonderful. We had loads of information beforehand and during to make the most of our stay. The fire warmed the house up so well and it was so cosy. The spa was very clean and comfortable. We’d definitely recommend staying here :)

Would recommend this beautiful residence any time of year, even in the winter we enjoyed the christmas decorations, log fire and hot tub. The view is stunning, perfect for a break away from the city. The property was spotless, cozy and has everything you would think to need. Lovely host with great responses, thank you for having us!!

This is the best place you can be to start the Yorkshire 3 peaks. It is literally open the front door and start walking to pen y Ghent. You can not get any closer. We spent 2 nights here and it was lovely. Highly recommended.

We had a great Christmas staying at David & Victoria's cottage. The downstairs is very cozy. Lovely fireplace and dining area. Kitchen has everything you need (including a Nespresso coffee machine). Bed was really comfortable - we both slept solidly every night! Nice lake walk right outside the house and easy to get to other areas within the Lake District. Something to bear in mind if you have a dog - the back garden is communal and overgrown/boggy, which made things a bit tricky (particularly with the short winter days) - just something to bear in mind if you have a dog which gets excited to explore (like ours!). Have some wellies by the back door and a torch and you should be fine! Also I'm sure it's much easier in the spring/summer. Also not a lot going on in Cleator itself - so you'll need to drive around 15 mins to get to the nearest supermarket/restaurant. All in all we're really happy we chose to stay here - also excellent value for money when compared to other nearby places.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. If you're looking for tranquility and amazing surroundings, I can't recommend Rutter Falls enough. The freshly baked bread and homemade jam on arrival were the icing on the cake! 😀

We stayed at the cottage for a week over Christmas while visiting family in the area. We’re a couple with a two year old toddler and a dog. Horseshoe Cottage was perfect for us. Helen’s a friendly and attentive host. Super helpful. She lives next door so is on hand, but the cottage itself is incredibly private. We loved the dog safe garden. The cottage was clean, warm and cosy. There were dog friendly walks immediately from the cottage, and also a short drive away. It was lovely to be in such a peaceful setting, with the sight of Helen’s horses out the back and pheasants and partridges all around, yet within easy reach were the M6, Carlisle, supermarkets and lots to see and do. Highly recommended.

This really is a home from home. Sometimes rental places can feel very sterile, and this is definitely not the case for Amanda's place. The kitchen was fantastically stocked and the welcome items were very much appreciated, especially since it isn't unheard of to find nothing to eat/drink in the kitchen when you arrive at other rental places.

The cottage is a perfect bolt hole for the lakes. It was cosy and well equipped and as expected from the listing. Dan’s communication was great.

We came for a family weekend with six adults and two dogs. We had a great stay. The house was nice and cosy and had everything we needed. It was a lovely quiet location but easy walking distance to the village and pubs. It was very well thought out and we would be very happy to visit again and see more of the area. Communication was great from start to finish and I would happily recommend this cottage to anyone.

This cottage is in a quiet, secluded place but conveniently situated to road links to all the places we wanted to visit. It was really clean and comfortable, and well-equipped. We were also able to walk to a pub and farm shop which was a bonus. Catherine was really friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the breakfast items - thank you!

Lovely place to stay, perfect for what we needed for the night. It was very clean and spacious. We loved the log fire as well, definitely the best thing. The host was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Check in was also made very easy. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Lovely cottage with a fab pub next door. The perfect stop over whilst driving from Scotland to the Cotswolds.

This was a beautiful spot, nice & private & accessible to the lake for a beautiful sunset pic opportunity. Very clean & tidy on arrival & we tried our best to leave it as we found it.
