We had a fantastic stay at Guy and Trey’s place. It was clean and had all the necessities for a 6 night stay. Very peaceful neighborhood 10 minutes from Hilo. Large backyard and an incredible swimming area at the bottom of a waterfall behind the house. Highly recommend for a stay of any length in the Hilo area.

My girlfriend, dog and I loved the stay. The heaters and fireplace made it nice and cozy. We both loved the peace and private of this cabin in the woods and would definitely go again

Beautiful A frame cabin in volcano. Made for a very peaceful and comfortable stay. The place is exactly as described, clean, and comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay at this private house in the rainforest! The description was spot on. Definitely will need an SUV for the rocky road to get there, but we loved the location and it's peacefulness. Loved hearing the frogs chirping at night but if that bothers you, earplugs were provided. Host was very responsive and checked in often. Definitely recommend staying here when coming to Hilo. The Volcanoes National Park was only about 20 minutes away and was very cool to spend quite a few hours at.

We had an amazing stay at Tracy's place in volcano. The pictures don't do the property justice, the landscaping and jungle surroundings made it so peaceful. We loved soaking in the hot tub and listening to the rain fall as the coqui frogs were singing. Tracy was very kind and responsive with any issues we had which were next to none. I'd recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay near volcano village.

Our party of 4 stayed at this immaculate 2 bedroom rental for 2 nights in December. We were blown away by the custom craftsmanship, unique style, and personal touch of live plant arrangements throughout each room we're so lovely. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend Jim's place 100%.

if anything this has been a really good cabin to kick it, listen to the frogs and rain. it's perfect spot because it's 2 hrs away from the national park one way and 2 hrs away from kona really good medium.

Beautiful place, very friendly hosts and crew, great access to sites near Pahoa. It is a rain forest, so it’s wet with loudly chirping coqui frogs at night that get even louder when it’s raining. So bring earplugs for sleeping! The hike out to the eastern most point on the island, Cape Kumukahi, was astounding.

Our stay was super peaceful and beautiful, the cabin was perfect for what it is, a jungle hut in the wilds. If mosquitoes love you like they love me I'd take a bunch of precautions but once you settle in and get used to the bugs it's not bad. The bed was comfortable and hearing the sounds at night was so soothing. We were also able to make some tasty meals with just a burner. Would definitely stay again.

Location is as amazing as advertised! Great house nestled in a tropical forest. A sea turtle "cleaning station" is a short walk away, where we saw dozens of turtles. Great snorkeling - including humuhumunukunukuapua'a. House has lots of gear for enjoying the beach. Only caveat is that the sandy part of the beach is pretty small and the rest of it is mostly rocks. It's an older beach house - nothing fancy but had enough room and all the necessities.

We are a family of 6 plus a little toddler. Maureen's place was perfect. Although we only used it once, the pool at the house was pristine clean. Since I cooked several of our meals, the kitchen had all the pots/pans and utensils we needed. (Just remember to bring your own coffee and other supplies/herbs/etc if you plan to cook more.) Maureen was also an excellent host. Her response rate time is speedy fast. She was also very understanding and accommodating. 100% recommend!

What an experience!! Amazingly beautiful location and well equipped spot! From the sound of the waves hitting the cliffs to the frogs at night. This was by far the most memorable Thanksgiving in my book. Beyond worth the stay… it’s a special spot.

We had an incredible stay at the Puna Rainforest Retreat! The serene rainforest setting is truly magical, offering the perfect blend of privacy and tranquility. The accommodations were thoughtfully designed, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The private rainforest trail and hot baths were the cherry on top and are pristinely managed. Jacklynn was warm and welcoming (along with her sweet dog, Kalo), providing great recommendations for exploring the area. We especially appreciated the attention to detail in creating such a peaceful and restorative environment. The location was ideal for experiencing the natural beauty of the southeastern Big Island, with easy access to stunning black sand beaches, lava fields, and lush hiking trails. If you’re looking for a unique retreat that connects you with nature, this is the place. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Jacklynn, thank you very much for giving me such a great opportunity to surround myself with comfortableness, warmth, and refreshing atmosphere! I'd recommend your place to anybody who wants to experience the life in Pahoa, whether it's just a few days of or weeks of stay. I will not forget the view of many orchard trees and the calm beautiful ocean far beyond your green land. I took bath every evening after walking through Pahoa. Every day the kitchen, the bathroom, the bed rooms, and the porch made me feel at home. And most importantly, Jacklynn was always there, so I was able to reach her whenever I needed some help.

What a wonderful, relaxing, and beautiful place and surroundings! The layout is perfect for a family with kids. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Amazing home and location. you can watch the sunrise from the back porch and see the ocean. There are people on site but you have plenty of privacy. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay it was very relaxing. we lov3d the plunge pool, and late night dips in the hot springs with the stars was amazing!
