Vacation rentals with lake access in Hawaii County

The home was so beautiful and peaceful! The view from the Lanai is unforgettable! We watched the sunset every morning and the stars every night. The AC in the rooms was amazing after a hot day on the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our Hawai’i adventure!

Large beautiful house that looks exactly like the pictures. Great space for 6 adults. The company was very friendly, responsive, proactive and helpful. I was impressed with them. Fantastic place if you just want to get away somewhere private. The porch and widow’s watch were fantastic. But be advised there are no shades on the windows, no AC and loud roosters that get started waking up the neighborhood around 5am. So plan to get up early since you won’t have a choice. You’ll need to get out early anyway since this area is pretty far out of the way and it’s a 30-60 minute drive to tourist activities.

Private and secure rental that was large enough for 5 of us. Kitchen was spacious and equipped with the essentials. It was clean and free of pests, which can be hard to do in Hilo…(I have lived there most of my life) The roosters do crow at night, so setting a white noise app is helpful for sleeping. The location is on the hillside above town, which means an interesting drive up and no mosquitoes :0). Town is not far down the hill.

We absolutely loved staying here. Lots of wonderful, thoughtful touches to make our stay relaxing and memorable. After staying in Maui for two weeks, it was perfect to get a true island experience on the green lush Big Island. We were so sad to leave, the home was so comfortable and perfect for a family vacation.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and well-appointed home! The highlight was undoubtedly the stunning tropical ocean view—we even spotted whales and dolphins right from the deck! The location is fantastic, just a short walk to a breathtaking black sand beach (clothing-optional), though swimming is best for strong swimmers. The home is comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing stay. As expected in the tropics, the environment can be a bit tough on materials, but that’s just part of the charm of being in such a beautiful, natural setting. The host communicated really well and has done a great job keeping the space welcoming and well-equipped. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway immersed in nature, this is a fantastic spot. We would absolutely stay again!

We have a great stay at the place! It was a work trip so the place was fantastic for our group. Quiet neighborhood but close to field locations we needed to visit so it was great. The kitchen is also well-stocked with essentials.

Went to Hilo side for wife’s birthday, Needed a place to rest and relax. Jeff’s place is 10/10. The views and the home is far better than shown on listing. The beds are super comfortable and the whole house feels very clean. You get a 2.5 acres to your self as well as Private swimming in the river with outstanding views. Kinda surreal when you get there and gives you that beyond paradise feel. Highly recommended and will return thanks Jeff for sharing a wonderful place 🤙🏼

We had a wonderful stay here. So close to town, yet very peaceful. Quick walk to end of street to watch sunsets and whales (no swimming here though). Layout of home is a little different, but offered great privacy for separate couples traveling together. Host was responsive and gave us some tips. Only negative is that there has been a house built between the house and the beach, so the photos are no longer accurate. It's still very lovely, but the difference is definitely large enough to warrant new photos. Would highly recommend and stay again.

We had a great stay. Beds were so comfy. Best ones during our whole trip. Jenny was responsive and helpful. Location is great. 5 min drive to a lot of restaurants as well as the farmers market. Would def recommend and stay again. Mahalo Jenny!

I stayed in this rental in February 2025 for two nights and really enjoed my visit. The home was spotlss clean and just as the listing mentions. The balcony was beautifully furnished and the tree and animals outside provided a lot of peace and quiet. The building is centrally located in Hilo and close to everything. The two drawbacks would be that the pool was not being maintained when I was there so it was not possible to swim in it, and a neighboring apartment had a guest or tenant that was constantly smoking marajuana so the smell was quite strong. Both of those are items Ming cannot control though.

We had an amazing stay. My son was really interested in fishing and was able to fish right out front while I cooked and got ready to go sightseeing. It was close to everything we had planned to do. We love the market and downtown. The park and beaches were super close too.

Wonderful place. Check in was a little confusing as I had not understood that you cannot park at Ocean Towers but also do not need to check in at the main lobby at Hilton. However, everyone was very helpful. The apartment was updated and very welcoming. Great bed and great bathroom. Amazing views from the Lanai and for the most part of the day not in direct sun which is perfect to just hang out and watch the whales.
