Fly or drive to this spacious and private 3500sq ft rustic modern log cabin on an airstrip. Located between Willow and Talkeetna, 2.5 hrs S of Denali Nat Park with incredible views along the drive! Great for families with two pack n plays/ high chairs and toys. Walk around the airstrip or sit on the deck while your kids play in the yard. Enjoy rainy or cold days in our Igloo. Unwind downstairs with a bar, 65” tv, games, speaker, and pool table. End the evening with a fire or sauna. Two tie down.

The space
Ask us about booking a Denali flight tour and glacier landing or Lake Clark bear viewing through Sheldon Air Service that picks up and drops off right at our cabin! It’s a once in a lifetime experience to walk out the door to your airplane. ATV and dog sled tour companies within 15 minute drive.

You’ll have plenty of space to park your ATV, boat/ snowmachine trailer, or RV in the long paved driveway. We are kid and pet friendly! This property is all to yourself if you’re looking for privacy on your dream AK getaway! (Many surrounding properties have multiple dwellings or owners on site.)

Enter to a spacious foyer with a library and piano sitting room. Read one of the many books. Then walk through to the open concept living, dining, and oversized kitchen. The dining table seats six and the island next to it seats five. We have two high chairs available for little ones. The kitchen has a double oven and plenty of prep space if you want to spend a holiday here. We have all the bakeware, utensils, and dishes you will need. Our host provides you with a stocked coffee/ tea bar along with Kodiak pancake mix, maple syrup, and instant oatmeal for breakfast. A pull out couch is in the living room. Guests constantly tell me that our carpet is so comfy they could just fall asleep on the floor!

A hallway takes you to a guest room, guest bathroom, and master suite with sauna. All bathrooms have double sinks. We have a baby bath/ soap, toddler toilet seat and step stool. Two Pack N Plays are available for use with baby monitors. We have a queen size floor mattress that can be put in the library for large groups making an 8th bed.

Downstairs you will find a huge recreation room complete with pool table, dance floor with strobe lights, bar, bluetooth speaker, and 65” tv. The bar is a piece of AK history having been salvaged from downtown Anchorage! We also have a variety of toys/ games for all ages including a vintage Nintendo NES system and Xbox. The rec room has 2 futons and a pullout couch. Off of the rec room is another guest room and bathroom. Your family won’t be bored inside even if it’s a cold Alaskan day!

Outside is a large yard and wrap around deck with gas fire pit, grill, and outdoor dining table. We have our Astreea Igloo for outdoor dinners and rainy day relaxing. Bring your kids bikes and enjoy the outdoor games provided! June-Sept we have a pickleball court on the driveway. The airstrip is about a mile around and great for taking a walk or run with your dog. An XL dog kennel is provided.

Willow has miles of multi use trail systems for snowmachines, fat tire bikes, xc skiing, and snowshoeing. It is also close to Talkeetna for great food and the beautiful Hatchers Pass for hiking and sightseeing (summer only). Willow is home of the world famous dog mushing Iditarod race and some of the best views of Denali!

There are various flight seeing services, ATV and dog sled tours, Denali zip line, fishing charters, reindeer farm, and a birch syrup tour within driving distance. Ask our host for more info!

The nearest major grocery store is 20 miles north in Talkeetna so plan accordingly for meals. Some restaurants in the area (within 10 miles) are not open everyday or in winter. However, most restaurants in Talkeetna are open.

The entire cleaning fee goes to our local Willow based cleaner. A 5% bed tax is included in the nightly rate.

The airplane hangar and garage are not available for guests. There are two locked storage closets downstairs with private signs.

Other things to note
Trailside Cafe and Sheep Creek Lodge are both within a 10 minute drive with fantastic food. Menus provided at the house. These are not open everyday.
