The cozy cottage is nestled along the bank of the Atchafalaya River, a few miles south of interstate 10 and half way between Baton Rouge and Lafayette, La. Drive through your own little private swamp as you enter the property before it opens up to the cottage. The front porch is only steps away from the river. Large windows line the front of the home so you will have a wonderful view wherever you’re at. It is a perfect place to relax while surrounded by nature.

The space
While this cottage is close to Interstate 10, it is still away from the hustle and bustle and a perfect place to relax with nature. Due to this, cable t.v. and internet are NOT available. There are over-the-air channels and an assortment of movies for you to enjoy.

Our water system is supplied by well water, so drinking the water out of the tap is not recommended.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans, silverware, cooking utensils, measuring cups/spoons, plates, cups, toaster, food processor, microwave, oven/stove, drip coffee pot, blender, and microwave.

The bathroom is also fully stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer.

This cottage is located on a bluff just feet away from the Atchafalaya River which is a very large river with a strong current making it an unsuitable environment for children to be left unattended outside. Swimming is not permitted. It sits on over an acre of property, so there is plenty of room in the back yard to run, play, and have fun. Fishing is often not possible from the property due to it being on a bluff. There are multiple public places to fish from the land near by and 3 public boat launches in the area also. The porches offer rocking chairs and lounge chairs for you to relax and enjoy the view.

You’ll be the only ones on the property so you will be able to have a relaxing private stay. The fences on both sides of the property outline the area for your enjoyment.

Guest access
You have full access to the property and cottage. The only areas off limits are the locked closet in the bedroom, a locked cabinet off the kitchen, and the outside buildings.

Other things to note
This is a place to relax with the outdoors. Internet and cable are not available. Water is supplied by a well. Bottled and gallon water is provided for cooking and drinking.

The cottage is located a few minutes south of a Louisiana Visitors Center (which is directly off I-10). There is a bar and also a gas station with a deli located on the drive between the cottage and the interstate. A few more minutes past the cottage and you will be at the boat launch for the Atchafalaya River located in Butte La Rose, La. A small general store is located across from the launch. Very close by is Henderson, La and it offers some amazing Louisiana cuisine including Crawfish Town USA and Pat’s Fishermen’s Wharf. A short drive down I-10 and you will be in Lafayette or Baton Rouge. If you are interested in escape rooms, the award winning 13th Gate Escape Rooms are a short drive away.
