Neighborhood highlights

We are situated in a delightful rural location - it sometimes feels like we could be a million miles from the hustle and bustle, but everything needed is actually in very easy reach.

For groceries and other supplies, the closest shops are:

o Londis in Lanner: A small convenience store North of Bell Lane, which closes at 8pm
o Co-op in Redruth: A larger convenience store on the main road in, open until 9pm
o Tesco in Redruth: A reasonably sized super-market
o Asda in Penryn: A larger supermaket with homegoods, clothing, etc.

And the nearest filling stations are:
o Gulf in Lanner, South of Bell Lane
o Imperial on the A393 between Lanner and Ponsanooth

Asda in Penryn typically has the lowest cost fuel.

The nearest ATM is located in the Gulf filling station in Lanner. Redruth, Penryn and Falmouth are all within easy reach and have the usual range of for High street banks.

If you don’t feel like cooking, the fish and chip shop in Lanner is fantastic, and Portreath Bakery (also in Lanner) sells amazing (bona fide!) Cornish pasties and other goodies.

And of course being in the countryside means we have some fantastic walks directly from the farm. The vehicle gate to the left of the farmhouse leads to a bridle way which in turn leads to a network of public footpaths, including the historic and scenic mining trails.

For a relatively easy 30-40 minute walk, turn right out the gate and head up the hill past the farmhouse. This will eventually lead you to the road from Lanner which you can follow back to the property in circuit.

Family man with 4 school-aged kids. Thoroughly enjoying running the smallholding that Julia and I bought in 2017 after spending too long in the rat-race. Love travelling - stayed in anything and everything from a tent to a 5 star hotel all over the world. Moved around the UK lots when younger and spent 3.5 years in Texas before finally settling in Cornwall.
