Peaceful, with an attentive host
Guests describe it as peaceful and secluded, and many praise Brenna as responsive and thoughtful
A gated gravel driveway leads to our Off-Grid glamper situated on mountaintop acreage bordering Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cherokee National Forest. The treehouse features eco-friendly solar power, clean rain-collected heated shower & vented compost toilet.
Rest from your adventures on comfy beds, cook meals in your covered outdoor kitchenette and dine al fresco in the trees, build a campfire in your private fire ring, and recharge your devices via the solar power station.
The space
The property is remote and protected from the noise and lights of a city. Located on the quiet, north side of GSMNP, the treehouse is about 2 miles from the Big Creek entrance to the Park and less than a mile from the Appalachian Trail at Davenport Gap.
Please note there is only ONE parking space available at the mountaintop - absolutely no extended vehicles or trailers.
Bring your belongings, food for meals, and adventure gear. We provide most cooking essentials & dish-ware, electric refrigerator cooler, bedding, towels, soap, and toilet paper. The kitchenette has potable water and hand basin, two-burner propane stovetop on concrete countertop, separate propane grill, and dining for four. There is a coffee percolator, which doubles as a kettle, and brews your own ground coffee. Please see Amenities section to view a complete list.
The space is pet-friendly with a $15 per stay Puppy Pass. Just one fee/pass covers all dogs for all nights. Please pick up after pets!
Onsite hiking trails from the treehouse are new-ish footpaths not heavily beaten in yet (will happen with time) and connect with two individual quarter-mile loop trails and an old mountaintop cemetery summit. Attention: these are steep paths (leg workout!)
Guest access
You will Self Check-in at the property. There is ONE PARKING SPACE - no extended vehicles or trailers.
A few days before your stay dates, please check your Messages Inbox (Airbnb App) for the numeric code for the gate lock and house lock, and be provided **detailed instructions and directions** -- this is a rural area.
Mobile phone reception is spotty en route but there is excellent cellular service at the property once you arrive.
Other things to note
Gravel driveway leads out and back, with limited turnaround space. Parking area holds ONE typical-size vehicle.
No extended vehicles, RVs, Campers or towed trailers.
The neighbor's house is visible briefly (to the right when arriving) a short distance from the beginning of the gravel driveway. All property on his side of the driveway is HIS. Please respect that. He has a few hand-drawn reminder signs posted.
Although he may drive our gravel road on his ATV (since he owns other side), he is not interested in conversation and not available for questions.
