Our eco-friendly, lofty place offers you a perfect spot in the hippest neighborhood of the city center. You've found a sojourn with a minimalist flare, brought to life by Scandinavian and Japanese furniture and contemporary art.

You won't get a TV in the flat. Instead, you can enjoy a good book and a traditional espresso. A fully equipped bespoke oak wood kitchen, chic bathroom, French closet, and rooftop with straw mats and cattail cushions can make your vacation or remote work exceptional.

The space
Welcome to “El Toscal Sojourn,” a unique, minimalist place we renovated/restored from the ground up in 2022. This lofty one-bedroom apartment sits in the perfect spot to enjoy Santa Cruz’s hippest neighborhood, the city center, and everything you’d want to do on the island. The Sojourn has approximately 65 sqm (700 sqft) of space, plus access to the rooftop.

The apartment is fully equipped for short and long-term stays for one or two people. It combines Scandinavian and Japanese furniture, a few unique vintage pieces, a bespoke kitchen, and bathroom, as well as contemporary art from Iceland, Berlin, and Tenerife. We were mindful of the eco-friendly philosophy when choosing renovation and decor. We had an eye toward what could have been saved, preserved, and rehabilitated, and the rest was built using oak wood, metal, and glass. The place offers everyday comforts like a French closet, fast WiFi internet, adjustable/dimmable lights, Bluetooth speaker, books in English, German and Spanish, a rooftop laundry room, fully equipped kitchen with a high-quality espresso machine, kettle, dishwasher, stove, oven, and fridge. What you won’t find here, on purpose, is a TV, air conditioner and a microwave. You can relax on the rooftop during the day or evening as we equipped it with straw mats, cattail cushions, a small bamboo table, and a large sunbrella.

A mostly open floor plan, unique contemporary design, and all-new appliances and furnishings make El Toscal Sojourn the perfect tranquil setting for your next vacation, travel, retreat, remote-working, or, ideally, a combination of these. Restaurants, cafes, bars, parks, galleries, tattoo studios, shopping, and access to public transportation are all just a short walk from this ideally located place.
