Where you’ll be

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Ocean Park is known as a very laid back and relaxed beach neighborhood in the capital city of San Juan. It is between Condado and Isla Verde, two upscale touristic areas, yet has managed to retain its residential allure with no major hotels around and more guesthouses, local restaurants and boutique shops. You will be staying in McLeary Avenue "la calle Mcleary", which connects to Condado & Old San Juan on one side and Isla Verde, all the way to Piñones on the other side. Access to the beach is through the Ocean Park gated community just across the street. The gates to the neighborhood are open everyday from 6am to 6pm. If you come back after 6pm you can exit the neighborhood through the main entrance and just walk 2min over to "La Rosa". The beach is usually packed on weekends, especially if it is sunny, and if you feel like renting a beach umbrella, chairs or order drinks, you can walk over to Pamela's or Hosteria del Mar.

RIght on McLeary avenue you will find a couple of good restaurants & shops, but because its a more quiet, residential street, if you walk 2 min across to Loiza street, you will find a lot more activity. Loiza street is a very commercial street that has recently been experiencing a growth in local commerce with young entrepreneurs & artists living nearby. It was described in 2014 by Conde Nast as 'a place of mystery and possibility, a good time about to be had', so imagine just how much it has grown since. On this street you can find everything from pharmacies to fancy restaurants, street food restaurants, tattoo shops, bars, gas stations, supermarkets & local shops.

If you feel like you want more of an upscale experience, Condado or Isla Verde are both about a 5 min taxi ride, and there you can find hotels with casinos, lounge bars and some more fancy nightlife activity!

We have been living in Ocean Park for more than 12 years now and will be happy to assist you in whatever you need during your stay with us as we would love for you to leave with a memorable experience of our neighborhood!
