Toddalong Roundhouse is a fantastic straw bale retreat!
Situated just outside the charming village of St Mabyn, nestled in the Cornish countryside, boasting beautiful scenic views.
Lying between the picturesque North Cornwall beaches & harbours and the wild expanse of Bodmin Moor. With the South Coast just a little further afield, it's ultimately a wonderful position to explore much of what Cornwall has to offer!
(Minimum stay 2 nights with a discount available for 7 night stays)

The space
This tranquil and unique sanctuary is a great place to stay for everyone who wants an escape. Toddalong Roundhouse is a cosy and comfortable getaway for all!

The open plan space is 10 meters in diameter; the perfect place to stay for couples, families & close friends. You have the entire space to enjoy! There's room for up to 6 people (up to 4 adults, plus 2 children in the snug bedroom).

The circular layout has a fully equipped kitchen area and wood burner. There is a mezzanine area for the double bed, below this is the children’s snug, which contains 2 standard single beds. In the main living area there is also a day bed (which can be made into 2 standard single beds or pushed together to act as a double).

The adjoining bathroom houses a toilet, basin and shower. There is a good-sized garden with a cold-water shower for wetsuits and a fire pit for toasting marshmallows.
There is no Internet access in the roundhouse and no TV, so it’s a true escape! However, there is good 3G & 4G reception and plenty of plug sockets. There is also a Bluetooth speaker, a DAB radio, plus a nicely stocked games cupboard and book shelves.

A Cornish cream tea will greet you on your arrival!

Please note: The wood burner is the only source of heating in the roundhouse, and during the cooler seasons the house can get a little chilly without a fire lit. We provide a small amount of wood for your arrival, but you will likely need to spend £5-10 a day on fuel on cold days. (Additional wood can be purchased from us for £5 a bag).

(We have ducks in the garden and own a timid rescue cat. This is the main reason why we’ve said no to dogs - not because we don't like them!)

Guest access
You have a reserved parking space on our drive, (please inform us if you plan to bring more than 1 car). The roundhouse is situated on the corner plot of our land. Access is up a few steps, through a private gate and along a pathway.

Due to the open staircase up to the mezzanine bedroom area, this property may not be suitable for toddlers, as a stair gate cannot be attached. The staircase also has no banisters and therefore may not be suitable for anyone who's a tad unsteady on their feet.

Other things to note
We have implemented a self check in.

We have worked hard to ensure our house manual folder contains everything you need to know about the Roundhouse. Although, we are still available if you do have any questions.

We have always had a strict cleaning regime between guests and have understood all Air bnb suggestions for how to clean our space effectively.

Neighborhood highlights

Toddalong Roundhouse is just a mile away from St Mabyn village with its lovely pub/restaurant and a great little community run shop and church. It’s around a 20-minute walk via the public footpath through the fields to get there or a 4-minute drive. (Just through the village, there is also Haywood Cider Farm)

We lie around halfway between Wadebridge and Bodmin, though Wadebridge is slightly closer (approximately 5 miles away). It boasts many independent shops and eateries as well as a cinema and leisure centre. Both Wadebridge and Bodmin have multiple supermarkets.

A few places you may wish to explore whilst you’re here:
‘The Camel Trail’ extends from Bodmin to Padstow and centres on Wadebridge, where you can hire bikes and spend the day exploring this wonderful old train line bike trail.
Our nearest beaches are around a 20-minute drive and include the surfing beach of Polzeath and the sailing area of Rock, where you can also take a short ferry across the estuary to Padstow.
We are situated nicely to explore many of Cornwall’s delights!
Other places of interest, including Tintagel, Port Isaac, Eden Project, and Bodmin Moor, these are all easily accessible by car from here. You can even see Roughtor and Brown Willy (the highest point in Cornwall) from the roundhouse!
On a clear night, the stars are spectacular here!

I've wanted to live in Cornwall for many years and a few years ago I was lucky enough to make that a reality. I'm happy I get to share this beautiful place with guests. I love the seaside, walks, good fresh seasonal food, and gardening.
