Welcome to Tisaion House, a soulful retreat located in Lafkos, one of the most picturesque villages in Pelion. Boasting fantastic views located right on the edge of nature, the house is just a short step from the square, where you embrace the Greek way of life. Whether you are on holiday or working remotely, you will find all the comfort you need. You will only hear birdsong, and there are some great beaches and hiking trails nearby. Find out more on the Tisaion House website.

The space
The cottage is located 300 meters above sea level, on the slope of a hill. From here you have a wonderful view of the mountains and parts of the village and opposite the beautiful Byzantine chapel of Agia Paraskevi. The village square with tavernas and shops, the oldest coffee shop in Greece, two small supermarkets, a pharmacy and the bakery are just a three-minute walk away.

On the ground floor of the house there is a lovely, comfortable living room, which invites you to relax and stay both in winter and summer. There is also a small workspace with a desk in case you need to do some work, a comfortable sofa bed for two more guests and a single bed.

Another pleasure is the open kitchen, which is equipped with everything your heart desires. All our guests are welcome to help themselves to cooking or baking from our stock of various groceries, olive oil, herbs and spices.

Upstairs there are two comfortable bedrooms with wonderful views of the green valleys, the mountains and the picturesque village. Each room is furnished with two beds, which are usually placed as a double bed. There's also a small cot if you need it. The bedrooms are particularly attractive due to their wooden floor, the dark, spacious wooden closets and the large balcony with a magnificent view of Pelion.

Even people who are sensitive to light can sleep well here, as each room has solid wooden shutter. The apartment can be completely darkened.

Upstairs between the two bedrooms there is a modern bathroom and a guest toilet on the ground floor. There is also a very special outdoor shower that you can use almost all year round. It offers hot and cold water and fantastic views of the valley's roof.

Another special feature is the large garden with its own fountain. Thanks to a lovely pergola with a stone table, there is always a shady place to eat and relax. Garden furniture is also provided, including a hammock and many hanging chairs where you can relax. A professional gas grill with outdoor kitchen is available for barbecue.

Tiseo's house was built in the traditional style of Pelion in the 1980s. It consists of a combination of solid concrete, steel and brick. In 2023 it was extensively renovated with great attention to detail, the fireplace and floors were tastefully modernized and equipped with modern technology such as solar thermal energy, Hue lighting and Daikin air conditioning. Of course, it offers a very good internet connection with LAN & Wi-Fi

The total living space of the house is 120 square meters, where you can spread out as much as you want. We usually rent to four to five people, but in exceptional cases (e.g. families or small hiking groups) we can of course accommodate more people.

Bicycles, cars, motorcycles or boats can also be rented for a fee. You can choose from a Toyota Yaris Verso, a Honda CX500 and a 30-horsepower Compass 400 GT, as well as six different bikes. All vehicles are in excellent condition.

After booking, we'll send you detailed instructions on how to use the cottage and property in PDF format. We hope that our guests will share our passion for life and cooking and will treat the house as their own.

Guest access
Guests have free access to all areas of the property. However, we ask you to be careful with the well and the walls, especially if small children are present.

Other things to note
IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The cottage has everything you need for a family holiday on the beach, for hiking or for staying longer. Upon arrival, you will find towels and made-up beds. We provide everything you need for fun and relaxation, including games, swimming equipment, yoga mats and various forms of transport. For full details, visit the Tisaion House website.

Please note that a visitor's tax is to be paid in addition to the rental price. From April to October, this is a flat rate of 15 euros per day, and from November to March, 4 euros. It applies to the entire house, regardless of the number of people. The Greek state uses it to combat the problems caused by climate change, such as fires and floods.

Pets cost €8 per day.

The use of bicycles, cars, motorbikes and boats is available by arrangement, but there will be a small charge.

Driving directly to the house needs attention: The last 200 metres require the driver to be skilled and dexterous, as the road is narrow at the beginning. If you are driving a large car, you must drive slowly and carefully for a few metres. We strongly advise parking directly at the house only for loading or unloading and using the nearby car parks in the meantime.

Neighborhood highlights

The small village of Lavkos, probably named by the bird "Glavkos", is located 54 kilometers from Volos in the south of Pilion. It is characterized by the absence of cars and its freshness. Even on the hottest summer days the northeastern wind often cools the village. Historically, it is supposed to be inhabited from the 15th century in a hidden location, unseen by the pirate ships that sailed the area, then expanded towards the ridge that ensures a view of the Pagasitikos.

The village, its people and lifestyle are a second home for anyone who belongs to humanity, simplicity and nature together. Besides the square with its famous trees and taverns the most outstanding are the marble sculptures of Thanasis Fampas and the very old "Kafenion" which has been operating continuously since 1785.

On our personal website, that can be found easily by searching the internet, you will get detailed and well-assorted information about excursion destinations, events and other tourist destinations, as well as everything about the neighborhood, the immediate surroundings and arriving by car, bus, train or airplane.
