The AGATHE is a place where life on the water finds its own rhythm. Light-flooded and open during the day, quiet and secure in the evening. Mild hours on the roof terrace when the sky slowly darkens and the water glitters quietly. Later, inside, warmth, wood and the soft crackling of the fireplace. AGATHE combines space and comfort – and makes every time on board special.

The space
The AGATHE is a lovingly designed tiny houseboat for those who like to spend their time close to the water. Manageable in size, open in feeling, it offers a special place to unwind – quiet, bright and pleasantly uncomplicated.

The open-plan living area covers around 18 square meters and is complemented by an elevated sleeping level. The decor comes from owner Kristina, who has put a lot of emphasis on details and a warm, harmonious atmosphere. A cozy sofa invites you to relax, at the dining table you sit right on the water. Through floor-to-ceiling windows, you can observe the quiet hustle and bustle outside – sometimes a duck passes by, sometimes a small boat or canoe.

Sleeping is upstairs on the sleeping level on a spacious 2 × 2 meter mattress. Through the skylight above the bed you can see clouds, watch the stars at night or listen to the quiet patter of raindrops – simple moments that will be remembered for a long time.

The compact kitchenette is well equipped with a sink, single burner induction cooker, fridge/freezer, toaster and espresso machine. Dishes, pots and cutlery are ready, so nothing stands in the way of shared meals on board.

The bathroom features a normal-sized shower and a modern, eco-friendly dry separation toilet. In addition, another bathroom can be used on land.

On warm days, doors and windows can be opened wide, fresh air passes through the boat, and a jump into the water is possible directly from the houseboat. If it becomes cooler, underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove provide pleasant warmth.

A special highlight is the roof terrace: you can relax in swing loungers, enjoy the sun or simply look over the water. In the evening, the most beautiful moments arise here – long conversations, peace, laughter, maybe a glass of champagne. Fairy lights create an atmospheric ambience after dark.

The AGATHE is ideal for couples, friends or small families looking for a quiet break – no overloaded luxury, but an honest, warm place on the water.

Other things to note
There are 200 liters of fresh water available on the boat, so showers should be kept short. The filled water is drinking water, but since it is stored in a tank, it officially has no drinking water quality - so please bring drinking water. (There is also a tap on the jetty.) It is also possible to use a small communal bath with dry separation toilet and shower on land.

The grounds, the jetty and the boat are not barrier-free.

You can sleep on the sofa; it is about 1.10 m wide, so suitable for 1-2 people. Accordingly, you can also stay overnight with four people on the boat; depending on how much you want to cuddle, possibly also with five people (if three sleep in the big bed). (Please always register all persons.)

In the courtyard, through which you walk to the jetty with the boats, high-quality houseboats are built by hand from wood and according to ecological standards. On the premises you often meet carpenters and boat-savvy people. You don't have to talk to anyone, but if you want to, a conversation will quickly arise. Sometimes construction noises can be heard. The surroundings are very green, yet it is still Hamburg; nearby is a railway bridge, which you can perceive more or less strongly depending on the wind direction. (Most people don't mind the noise.)

My work: Eco houseboat construction
Speaks German and English
We rent houseboats and well-developed lifeboats in Hamburg. Most of our houseboats were handcrafted right here on site by ecological standards. Each (house)boat has a different owner, on whose behalf we organize the rental; and so each (house)boat is individually equipped and furnished. Choose your favorite boat for a very special stay right on the water!
