The tiny houseboat AGATHE, built on site according to ecological standards and lovingly furnished by the owner Kristina, is fully equipped with a small kitchen, shower room and large bed on the plateau. The fireplace provides extra coziness, floor-to-ceiling windows let the view wander, two rocking chairs invite you to relax in the sun and long conversations on the roof terrace. AGATHE is perfect for a break for two to a maximum of four, or even alone.

The space
The living area extends over about 18 square meters (plus 5 square meters of raised sleeping level) and is kept open. The houseboat was built by its owner Kristina, who built it with us on site and for whom we manage it, with a lot of love for detail. A cozy sofa invites you to relax, while from the dining table through floor-to-ceiling windows you can wonderfully observe the hustle and bustle on the water: sometimes a duck swims by, sometimes a small boat or canoe.

On the high sleeping level, you can expect a 2 x 2 m mattress for pleasant nights with plenty of space, through the skylight above the bed you can see clouds passing in good weather or watch the stars at night or fall asleep to quietly knock the raindrops.

In the kitchenette you will find a sink and a small induction cooker with a plate, there is also a refrigerator with freezer, a toaster and an electric espresso machine. Pots, dishes and cutlery are also available.

In the bathroom there is a normal big shower and a modern, eco-friendly Trobolo drying toilet. In addition, there is a bathroom on land that can be used by all our houseboat guests.

On hot days, the many doors and windows can be opened to let in fresh air; if it is colder, underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove provide cozy warmth. You can go swimming directly from the boat.

Another highlight is the roof terrace: Here you can relax in rocking chairs while looking over the water, you can let the sun shine on your stomach, have deep conversations on mild summer evenings, enjoy being silent, laughing champagne corks popping. At night you can turn on fairy lights for a cozy atmosphere.

Other things to note
200 litres of fresh water are available on the boat, so showers should be kept short. The filled water is drinking water, but since it is stored in a tank, it officially has no drinking water quality - so please bring drinking water. (There is also a tap on the dock.) It is also possible to use a small communal bathroom with dry separation toilet and onshore shower.

The grounds, the jetty and the boat are not accessible.

You can sleep on the sofa; it is about 1.10 m wide, so it is suitable for 1-2 people. Therefore, you can also stay with four people on the boat; depending on how much you want to cuddle, possibly also with five people (if three sleep in the large bed). (Please always register all persons.)

On the farm, over which one walks to the jetty with the boats, high-quality houseboats made of wood and according to ecological standards are built by hand. On the grounds you often encounter carpenters and boat-affin people. You don't have to talk to anyone, but if you'd like, there's a quick conversation. Sometimes building noises can be heard. Surroundings are very green, yet it is still Hamburg; nearby is a railway bridge that is more or less noticeable depending on the direction of the wind. (Most of them don't mind.)

My work: Eco houseboat construction
I'm obsessed with: Houseboats and Sustainability
We rent houseboats and well-developed lifeboats in Hamburg. Most of our houseboats were handcrafted right here on site by ecological standards. Each (house)boat has a different owner, on whose behalf we organize the rental; and so each (house)boat is individually equipped and furnished. Choose your favorite boat for a very special stay right on the water!
