Neighborhood highlights

Central Gardens is a historic Memphis Neighborhood in the Midtown. It has been names one of North America's best "Old House Neighborhoods"

It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Central Gardens was built primarily between 1850 and 1930 and originally served as home to the city's wealthy middle-class residents who moved east during the heyday of the cotton boom along with the expanding city limits, which by 1900 shifted to East Parkway in what is now Midtown.

We have bike lanes that run down the street next to the house. The two things I would highly recommend for biking are "Big River Crossing" and the "Green Line".

Big River Crossing - Connects Tennessee to Arkansas and allows you to bike over the Mississippi allowing you access to trails in Arkansas for biking without having to drive your bikes over in a car. This is a little over 5 miles from the house bike paths most of the way.

GreenLine - This is a 10.65-mile paved, urban trail that connects pedestrians and cyclists in Midtown Memphis through Shelby Farms Park to Cordova. The Greenline is a rails-to-trails project that transformed an unused railroad line into one of Tennessee's favorite trails. This starts on Tillman and heads all the way to the other side of the city. I would warn the Tillman is an up-and-coming area and I don't know that you would want to leave a car they're well riding. (it is 3 miles from the house to the start of the trail and most of it has bike lanes)
