Welcome to The Verge – Cebu’s 1st barefoot luxury cliff beach villa. Featured in an int’l travel magazine, this sits on Lambug Beach Badian, Cebu’s #1 white sand public beach. Wake up on a king bed to ocean views, step onto soft sand, dip in your pool at sunset, relax on the cliff-hang hammock under the stars, & end w/ an outdoor bamboo rain shower at night. 10 min to Kawasan Falls canyoneering & 20 min to Sardine Run, this is Cebu’s base for adventure, authentic island culture, & a unique stay.

The space
The Verge Cebu sits directly on Lambug Beach — alive with fishermen 🎣, children 👶, laughter, boats ⛵, and everyday island rhythm. This is not a secluded resort beach. It is Cebu as it truly lives.

For those who value quiet, evenings are serene: quiet hours begin at 10 PM 🕙✨, allowing you to enjoy starlit cliff-hammock moments, gentle waves, and romantic nights undisturbed.

If you want manicured silence all day, this may not be for you. But if you want to feel fully immersed in local culture, place and view, you will fall in love ❤️ — with the villa, with the sea, and with each other.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE? ☀️🌅✨

Wake up in your king-size romantic canopy bed facing the sea with sweeping ocean views 🌊🛏️ and take in the warm morning sea breeze while sipping your hot coffee.

Start your day with adventure: Kawasan Falls canyoneering 🏞️, Moalboal Sardine Run & Pescador Island snorkeling 🐟🐢, or Oslob whale shark encounter 🦈. These experiences begin early, inviting you to immerse yourself in South Cebu’s natural wonders.

After your morning or early afternoon excursions, return to The Verge. Walk along the 1.5 km stretch of soft sand, holding hands as the tide rolls in, then take a refreshing dip in the warm ocean 🌊. Stop by a local sari-sari store for snacks, try a round of videoke singing, and meet some of the most hospitable Cebuanos you’ll ever meet.

Unwind in the late afternoon at your cliffside pool 🏊‍♂️ while soaking in golden sunsets 🌞. Pause on the cliff-hanging netbed hammock 🌌 with a local beer 🍺 in hand and watch the stars emerge. Enjoy room service 🍽️, then refresh under the nights sky of the outdoor bamboo rain shower 🌙💦. Relax on the long day sofa 🛋️ while watching Netflix/YouTube 🎬 or surfing the web with strong Wi-Fi 📶. Air-conditioning ❄️ ensures cool comfort, and let the romantic ambiance with your partner naturally carries you into the night.

This beachfront villa bring privacy, gentle waves, romance, and sleep that feels naturally earned 😴.

STAY LONGER, ENJOY MORE ⛱️

- 3 days, 2 nights? Never enough.

- 4 days, 3 nights? The perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

🛑 Host Pro Tip: In our 4 years of hosting, we’ve seen guests try to cram too many adventures — canyoneering, Sardine Run, whale shark swimming — into just 2 nights. These long water-based activities under the HOT SUN (temps can reach 40°C / 104°F) often leave guests exhausted or unwell. Take it slow: enjoy sunsets 🌅, cliffside pool dips 🏊‍♂️, and starlit hammock moments 🌌🍺. This is the best way to experience Cebu fully — the slow life.

Make the most of Cebu — ranked among the world’s top 10 islands by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure 🌴✨.

Location. Unique. Iconic.

Discover a distinctive local blend of comfort and style in this 60 square meters (645 square feet) one-bedroom cliff beach villa meticulously designed by a distinguished Cebuano Architect. This unique and iconic villa is your private understated oasis of calm that reflects the exciting facets of island living with a timeless quality of Cebuano vernacular-modernist architecture. This villa is also recognized as 1 of the top 10 best beach villas in the entire Cebu island by an international travel magazine. It boasts of having the only cliff-hanging netbed, an outdoor bamboo rain shower & a dipping pool with a view of Lambug White Beach – you can’t find this in Cebu! The villa also comes with mesmerizing views of Tañon Strait/seaview. For people with a distinct taste who are seeking a major wanderlust like you, this iconic villa is the ideal place to relax to.

Villa's Design/Inspiration and What's in the Name?

Uncover a unique and iconic presentation of sustainable design at The Verge Cebu, where our Architect emphasizes the importance of obtaining top-notch construction materials within a 100-km radius of the site & Cebu is blessed with all the unique and natural materials we could find, not relying on imports fostering commitment to sustainable design. With this, The Verge Cebu uses local & traditional Cebuano materials, transforming it to a modern geometry where raw unpainted concrete meets amakan(bamboo weave), ceramic tiles meet gravel, bamboo meets nipa leaves & glass meets wood, making for a truly unique Cebuano vernacular-modernist architecture. It's more than just a beach villa, it also stands as a destination for architectural design sustainability.

Inspired by the nostalgic paper planes that we all play during childhood, the villa takes the form of a truncated version of a sharp-edged paper plane & with a roof that is shaped like a paper plane’s sporadic wing that represents “throwing yourself into the future.” Perched on top of a cliff in Badian’s foothill, this iconic villa appears to have flown above the plunging cliff of palm trees, thatch huts & the white sand below, offering a view like no other especially at sunset & delivering a dramatic “live on the verge” experience. This is why we call it The Verge Cebu.

Guest access
Please enjoy:

- A beachfront villa located on top of a 5-meter or 16-foot high cliff with direct access to the 1.50 km fine white sand & azure waters of Lambug Sunset Beach;

- The iconic netbed hanging by the cliff & private dipping pool (65 square feet, 4 feet deep pool) to soak-in the mesmerizing Cebu's sunset;

- Luxurious & unique King-size memory bed + 4 single memory beds with alternative down pillows, duvet & 300 thread count white linens (5-star hotel quality comfort). The villa can comfortably sleep 6 people + 1 kid;

- The rarest Halasina Mara or “gold wood” Hardwood flooring. Please go barefoot inside the villa, Filipino style or we call ‘barefoot luxury’. Shoes & sandals stay out & is considered a crime if you bring it indoors. This has always been the Filipino culture so we don't provide indoor slippers. Science has proven that walking barefoot helps in reducing white blood cells and increase red blood cells, which hints to better your immunity against diseases. Barefoot walking has been shown also to help increase antioxidants, reduce inflammation and improve your sleep. You are here for an authentic experience with us;

- High bamboo ceiling with amakan native walls & nipa leaves roof (our own little way to contribute to green building & sustainable design to save our environment). Just a little story time too that after a few days we just finished constructing the villa on December 2021, as luck may have it, Super-typhoon Odette hit Cebu & its eye or landfall was Southern Cebu. Expecting the worse that it all collapsed to the ground after the super-typhoon hit, we couldn't get to see it since the roads were damaged so we find it hard to accept its fate that the villa was all gone just like that after 9 months of construction (built it during the pandemic with a wave of lockdowns/restrictions). After a few days that the roads were restored, we hurried to see it & were relieved that the villa was the only 1 left completely standing proud at Lambug Beach. All other structures at Lambug Beach were wiped out by the super-typhoon. We just combed the nipa leaves roof (not even 1 nipa leaf was replaced), repaired the bamboo accent wall that was hit by a flying object brought by the strong winds & the villa was back. This villa stands as a testament to the strength of sustainable design, having weathered the most formidable of challenges. By choosing to stay with The Verge Cebu, you align with the ethos of resilience and embody enduring strength. Beyond being a physical structure, this villa symbolizes the profound connection to a place with soul and meaning, a source of inspiration that reflects the indomitable spirit within you. :)

- At Lambug Beach, you can find many local Sari-sari stores & there's 'Tuyom' and 'Marika' Beach Restaurant. There are also local food stalls selling barbecue & local food/fruit shakes along the beach. You can do snorkeling & see some fish just in front of the villa so bring your own snorkeling gear. You can do crystal kayaking or have fun with a jetski ride offered by a local shop. For scuba divers, SuDivers Dive Shop is just a short 2-minute walk from the villa. Lambug Beach invites you to savor its diverse offerings, whether you're looking for culinary delights, aquatic adventures, or the thrill of discovering the underwater realm.;

If you stay longer with us, there are still many to be explored in Cebu South like Bojo River Cruise (newly awarded as Best Toursim Villages by UN WORLD TOURISM), Casino Peak, Kandungaw peak, Badian Highland, Kansanto Spring, Guadalupe Mabugnao Mainit Hot Spring National Park, Zaragosa Island, Scuba diving spots like the 5 Guardians in Alegria, Mantayupan Falls (Cebu's highest waterfall), Dao Falls & some 40 more waterfalls, Samboan's Kawa Bath, Tingko Beach, Cuartel Ruins, beautiful churches (Boljoon, Simala, Argao, Carcar), Eli's Rock, and so many more.

Other things to note
- Nestled 100 kilometers (62 miles) away, a 3.5-4.5 hour drive from Cebu City, and 116 kilometers (73 miles), a 4 to 5 hour drive from Mactan Cebu International Airport (depending on traffic jam), your journey to us needs thoughtful planning. For departures from Cebu City after 12 noon, securing our Private Transfer Service/airport pick-up is mandatory. Afternoon traffic, spanning 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Cebu City to Carcar town, can significantly affect your travel time, especially when aiming to meet our 6 PM check-in deadline. Negotiating Cebu's predominantly 2-lane roads (1 lane for each direction) is a challenge due to the city's rich heritage as the oldest city in the Philippines. If you leave Cebu City in the morning, you can choose to travel by public commute to reach The Verge Cebu & here's how to do it:

Take a white taxi from your hotel in Cebu City or from Mactan Airport to Cebu South Bus Terminal. Take an airconditioned bus going to Badian via Barili. Tell the bus driver/conductor when you get on the bus that you are going to disembark at Lambug Beach Road/LRR Resto Grill in Badian. Take note that the bus will stop in a restaurant along the way for snacks and toilet break & the bus will leave without its passengers knowing since for some passengers, this is their final stop. Don't loose sight of your bus. It would be hard to retrieve & trace your luggage if you loose your bus & it would be hard to find another bus to continue your trip. When you finally disembark from the bus & you already arrive at the corner of Lambug Beach Road, take a 5-minute habal-habal ride (motorcycle taxi) or tricycle to The Verge Cebu. For directions just use gogle-map & enter Destination A “LRR Resto Grill” in Badian then Destination B “The Verge Cebu" to track your trip.

Fare estimates:

> Mactan Airport to Cebu South Bus Terminal White Taxi Fare: 500 PHP or 10 USD (estimate)
>Airconditioned Bus Fare from bus terminal to Lambug Beach Road: 300 PHP or 6 USD per head.
> Habal-habal 5-minute ride from corner Lambug Beach Road to the villa: 100 PHP or 2 USD per head

Also, for departures in the morning, fuel your adventurous spirit by renting a motorbike/scooter or a car in Cebu City and embarking on an exciting journey to Cebu South. Begin your day early to enjoy pitstops at Carcar, where you can explore old houses, visit the Carcar Dispensary Museum, and marvel at the St. Catherine of Alexandria Church. Continue your adventure with awe-inspiring visits to Mantayupan Falls in Barili (the tallest waterfall in Cebu), as well as Cambanug Falls in Dumanjog and Lusno Falls in Ronda. Cap off your exploration with a visit to the iconic Osmeña Peak or venture to the lesser-known Casino Peak before reaching the ultimate destination—your stunning villa.

- Embark on a scenic ascent to your villa, perched atop a 5.0-meter high cliff overlooking the beach—a breathtaking setting accessed via a staircase of 34 steps, offering unparalleled views. Please note that this elevation may pose challenges for those with mobility concerns;

- The electrical system of the Philippines uses 220v. If you’re coming from countries that uses 110v, please check your devices in advance if it’s compatible. Do not plug your 110v device to a 220v outlet directly. It will fry your device & may start a fire in the villa. There are plenty of adaptors that you can buy online to make the 2 electrical system compatible;

- We are part of nature so embrace the natural surroundings as you may encounter local wildlife such as birds, small lizards, geckos, stray dogs, and insects during your stay. We recommend bringing insect repellent lotion with you for added comfort. To ensure a critter-free retreat, kindly remember to always keep the doors closed;

- Facing west, our villa's balcony and dining area may become warm in the afternoon sun, so plan to enjoy lunch around noon if you prefer a cooler experience. However, the payoff comes at sunset, when the view from this spot becomes truly epic;

- Enjoy the complimentary sealed bottled water inside the ref. If that’s not enough, just buy from the sari-sari store beside the villa to help the locals. Your well-being is our top priority, and we've made the deliberate choice not to offer a water dispenser, despite it being the more economical option. This decision is informed by studies revealing potential contamination risks. You are here with us to enjoy and not to get an upset stomach;

- Your private pool can be disrupted by heavy rains and weather disturbances as we are in a tropical climate, so bear this in mind. Don't also use the pool during lightning or thunderstorm for your safety. Our villa staff is trained to respect your privacy so kindly message our Villa staff if you need the pool to be cleaned.

- Upon check-in, a legal waiver of liability must be signed since we are on a cliff and the balcony doesn't have railings to soak-in the view;

- Enjoy the freedom to tailor your travel plans with our different booking options (Non-refundable and Firm)! While we aim to be accommodating hosts, unfortunately, we've encountered many instances of guests abusing Airbnb's Trip Change Requests (it's a "cancellation policy", not "change of date policy"). Due to this, we do not approve trip change requests for both non-refundable & firm bookings as it will affect our listing’s visibility under the algorithm. We also don’t accept cancellation & refund requests so pls read our long listing description carefully. Our villa is unique and not for everyone, and we ask that guests book only if they fully understand and accept these terms.

- Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Filipino culture during your stay. Neighborhood noise (mostly Saturday night and Sunday daytime) may be present like videoke singing as Filipinos love to party and sing. Previous reviews mentioning loud videoke sessions heard while inside the villa have been addressed through villa renovations, including changing walls from wood to concrete and installing double sliding glass doors. If you are really sensitive to noise, just bring a noise-cancelling headphone with you or close the double sliding glass doors of the villa. Anywhere in the Philippines, you'll hear someone sing & singing is considered an informal national sport, LOL. We love to gather in a group, have fun, sing and laugh (sunny disposition). This is part of our local culture & this is why Filipinos are ranked as one of the happiest people on earth. We also have this local joke that if you cannot sing and you're out of tune, you're not a Filipino, LOL. Expect the noise to be down by 10 P.M. as required by law. Just go along with the vibe, you're in the Philippines. As travelers, we always adjust to local culture, not the other way around (don't travel if you're not flexible, LOL). There are also videoke machines along the beach so try it out & sing your heart out at only 5.00 PHP per song while gaining new friends since Filipinos are the kindest & friendliest people you'll ever meet. In Cebu, we call ourselves Cebuanos, speak good English too because English fluency is like a status symbol here in Cebu. It's even a fact that Cebuanos are more fluent in English than the Tagalog language. This is also why Cebu is also considered as the BPO/call center capital of the Philippines and many of our Asian neighbors come to Cebu just to study English. The Philippines, as a collectivist society, places great importance on social harmony. Take the chance to immerse yourself in the unique Filipino culture and appreciate the warmth and camaraderie that define the local way of life. Filipinos just love life, happy people and have many songs in their hearts. Why try to destroy it? Join in and get loud! ;)

- We’re are building a second villa at the back of the property to make the place even better in the future. Construction is ongoing during daytime hours only, and we do our best to keep noise and disruption to a minimum. Rest assured, the main villa, beach access, and all guest areas remain fully private and available for you to enjoy. The beachfront estate has now 2 beach villas. Thank you for your understanding, and we truly appreciate you staying with us while we grow!

- Our main/core business is Build and Sell (Real estate development) so this beachfront lot and beautiful villa is also for sale as Leasehold ownership for 20 years (foreigners can own) at 299,000 USD and Freehold ownership (for Filipino citizens and foreigners married to a Filipino) at 329,000 USD.
