Welcome to The Seven Sisters at Atlas Ranch, an open concept, loft style house nestled in the scenic mountains of Joshua Tree, CA, just five minutes from town and 12 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park. Tucked away in a quiet and serene area, we are conveniently close to all the shops and restaurants the high desert has to offer.

The space
+ Two large outdoor soaking tubs with an ice machine! Fantastic for those who
love therapeutic hold/cold plunges, or just want to indulge in an ice bath.

+ Refreshing misting system over the back porch makes you feel worlds cooler
in the desert heat.

+ Only 5 minutes from Downtown Joshua Tree and 12 minutes from Joshua
Tree National Park.

+ Nestled in a particularly quiet and scenic area of Joshua Tree among the
desert mountains with with vast, sprawling vistas. Not many people know
about this area.

+ Fully stocked chef’s kitchen with a propane range.

+ Large fireplace - the hearth of the house! Very snuggly to sit around,
especially at wintertime, and effortless to flip on.

+ High speed Wifi

+ large back patio with sprawling vistas, perfect for breakfast in the morning
(weather permitting) and lounging throughout the day.

+ Flatscreen Art TV above the fireplace with Netflix, Prime, Hulu et al.

+ countless outdoor areas to sit, recline, swing, or be still.

+ This is a creative space - there is a watercolor station, a piano, and
instruments placed around the house.

+ Large Indoor Soaking Tub- perfect for soothing your muscles after a long day
in the park! Here, there is an extra large picture window for viewing the
mountains behind us, or the beautiful stars at night.

+ Giant Ping Pong table- with wiffle balls and tennis balls as well so you can play
with different weights and sizes! Super wacky and fun!

+ Foosball table

+ Sleeping Options - A queen bed in the master, two mini single sleepers (so they are a couple inches smaller all around than a standard single mattress), one
on each side of the fireplace, which also has a curtain for privacy, a nine foot
couch in front of the fireplace.

+ Enjoy the library! There are hundreds of books lining the walls in different
areas. The collection consists mostly of art, healing, humanities, classic
literature, and travel. It is meant to help us get in the creative pocket while
we work, or to soothe our hearts and give us tools for living if we are on a
more healing and heart centered retreat.

+ Enjoy the bountiful wildlife here! Coyotes, jackrabbits, bunnies, roadrunners,
quail, white iguanas, and if you get lucky you may even spot a desert tortoise!
A couple times a day you can hear the coyotes calling to each other in
chorus- very powerful!

+ Open Concept Design - The Seven Sisters was built in 1957 and has been
remodeled as a healing and creative space for artists and musicians. This is
where we come to write music, paint, do photography, and it’s where we
come to cleanse, sleep, meditate, research, do yoga, turn inward and
replenish. This is definitely a place to fill your cup, and we are grateful to be
able share it with you. This property is an open concept, loft style design. It
has one bedroom that is semi-enclosed with bookshelves, and then you can
close it off completely with curtains, giving you privacy but still keeping it
somewhat connected to the main space. The space is designed to be
romantic, poetic, earthy yet mystical, and thought provoking.

+ We have many plants here btw- most airbnb’s don’t have plants everywhere
like this but we love our green friends. They add such a healing and soothing
element to the space. Additionally we like to propagate plants and let you
take one home if you notice one has developed a mature enough root
system. Our way of being green. :)

+ The Seven Sisters sits upon 10 acres and has one other listing on it, The Cabin
at Atlas Ranch. The two structures sit about an 300 feet apart and have a
fence between them, maintaining the feeling of privacy. If you have a larger
party, you may want to consider renting both properties together. Reach out
if this is something you’d like to discuss!

Just so you are aware, this is our home, we are not vacation rental investors like many of the listings in the area. This is our creative space, where we retreat to find solace and to process our own lives. We put all of our heart into creating it, and it gives us much pleasure to share it with others when we aren't using it. We prefer to think of our guests as friends or extended family rather than strangers. We are protective of our home and our guests, and put energy into making sure every visit is as wonderful and caring as possible with the hope that everyone leaves feeling better than when they arrived. So think of coming here as the more old school Airbnb experience, when it really was all just people staying in each other's homes. Better yet, think of this as though you are going to visit a grandparent's home or a favorite aunt and uncle that genuinely care about you, if it helps you enjoy the visit all the more while you are here. :)

Please note - We do not allow any pets, unfortunately. If you have a service animal and would like to avoid the no pet policy, please know the reason we do not allow pets is not because we don’t like animals, but because the owner has severe asthma and allergies, has been hospitalized many times, and the wrong animal could level her for weeks. We experienced a guest insisting on bringing a service animal despite knowing this, and were saddened our wellbeing wasn’t of importance to this person, which is why we feel the need to speak of it here. Please be considerate and find another listing if you need to travel with an animal of any kind. We aren’t trying to be mean, we adore animals, but don’t want anyone’s health to be at risk because of someone insisting on bringing their animal, especially when there are so many animal friendly listings in the area. Thank you for hearing this.

Love to all!

Neighborhood highlights

Windy Gap is a very secluded neighborhood about five minutes from Downtown Joshua Tree. In fact, it's so secluded, many locals don't even know about it! It is tucked away in an incredibly scenic area sprawled over rolling hills and surrounded by desert mountains. Every which way you look at here seems to have it's own magical vista!

Being so secluded, those in Windy Gap are particularly careful to obey local light and noise ordinances. This is why visiting Atlas Ranch is so wonderful for couples and solo trips, healing retreats, and focus time on a work or creative project. It, however, is not the place to host a party. That can be done in any city environment; particularly this part of the desert is for people who would like to feel quiet and removed.

Nice to meet you! I'm a Texas native, artist and musician, and I get to be a mom and wife too! I love gathering people, cultivating community, and creating spaces where folks can just enjoy each other, elevate each other, and hopefully leave feeling better than when they came. :)
