A uniquely large property with soaring mature trees and wonderful views from the wrap around windows, all to help you relax and unwind.

The space
At the Royale, you'll find the free-standing guesthouse is private and not connected to the main house. Self check-in is a breeze with keypad coded locks, so you'll never have to worry about losing your key! The property is fully fenced, lighted and gated for added security. At the entry off Nicholson Street is a welcoming bamboo gate that leads into a patio area with outdoor furniture for relaxing and unwinding.

The open staircase with wood and metal bannister provides a lofted feel to the space and with windows on all sides, you have plenty of natural light and views of activity on the hike and bike trail.

As you settle in and get comfortable, you'll notice that the color purple both calms and stimulates our bodies, putting us in the right place for introspection and focused insight. Purple creates a harmonious balance of awareness and peace. The color purple is also associated with an escape from reality, magical images and royalty.

Neighborhood highlights

Houston Heights was founded in 1891. It was Texas’ earliest planned community. Houston Heights was incorporated as its own city in 1896. It was annexed by the City of Houston in 1918. The Houston Heights includes a variety of architectural styles from the turn of the century.

The neighborhood was laid out on a rectangular grid with a north/south emphasis, with Heights Boulevard as the central spine. The north-south streets have names; the east-west streets are numbered. Heights Boulevard also serves as the dividing line between ‘East’ numbered streets and ‘West’ numbered streets. Some streets were named for colleges and universities, such as Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Oxford. Other streets were named for cities in New England, where the American Loan and Trust Company was founded. Heights Boulevard features a 60-ft esplanade inspired by Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.
