Enjoy lake life on a quiet bay of one of Hayward's premier lakes. The bay is home to loons, bald eagles, owls, deer, otters, ducks, and frogs as well as an occasional bear. Beyond the bay, Round Lake is renowned for boating, fishing, and swimming at the sandbars. Take one of our provided kayaks (there's 2 of them) and make your way to the nearby sandbar or just around the bay to take in the wildlife. If you enjoy winter sports like skiing or snowmobiling, the house makes an excellent home base
The space
This private all-wooded chalet features 3 bedrooms (each with its own private veranda) and dedicated bathrooms (with an additional quarter-bath on the main level), a 3-season screen porch, dining room, living room, and a family room. There is ample space for 8 guests (as limited by the county), ideal for multiple families and friends travelling together.
Prepare your meals in the fully stocked kitchen with gas-range or cook on the gas grill and dine on the wrap-around deck.
The house is especially outstanding for groups that like to stay together. Enjoy the great room immediately adjacent to the kitchen so the group stays connected. Additionally, there's a gas fireplace for the kids to "camp out" by in the downstairs family room and a fire ring out in the expansive front yard with beautiful views of the lake.
Warming up in the sauna after a swim or being out in the winter element is also highly recommended to put yourselves at ease to maximize your stay.
Modern necessities are also provided such as 300 mbps wifi access, 2 smart TVs for your gaming system or streaming services, central air, and a full-size washer and dryer at no extra charge.
There is space at the dock for one additional boat (we rent a pontoon in the summer -separately) if you wish to bring one and a public boat launch is close by. We also have 2 kayaks for use by all!

A Note About Dogs:
We LOVE dogs and we want our guests to enjoy their vacation with the whole family, including the pets. Up to two dogs are allowed with prior approval- an additional fee applies. That being said, please be mindful of whether our home is appropriate for your dog(s).
We may not be the vacation rental for you if your dog(s):
*Consider barking to be a favorite pastime;
*Chew things other than bones;
*Cannot bear to be on a tie-out;
*Use the house as a bathroom.
We ask that your dogs be supervised when at the house and crated when you are not (One large crate is available at the cabin). Also, it should not need to be said (but unfortunately needs to be, as we have had guests leave enough surprises for us), but PLEASE pick up after your dogs!! Easiest thing to do is scoop and fling into the woods, our own dogs have learned to just go do their business there already. :)

Born and raised in Hayward, family from Chicago. My father built The House on Round as a show-model for his real estate development business and left it to my sisters and I when he passed away. My career took me into customer service and I love combining that experience with allowing others to enjoy this beautiful home that means so much to my family and I. I've made a lot of memories in that place, and my hope is others get to do so as well!
