Soak up the view during your stay.
Welcome to The Hideout; a converted 1960's lorry with spacious garden surrounds, nestled away on the stunning Northumbrian coast.

The Hideout offers the ideal base for rest, exploration, and adventure with some of the most sought after destinations of the Northumbrian Coast within walking distance.

A highly sought after location due to its proximity to beaches, pubs and restaurants.

The space
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒏

Nestled on the edge of a farm less than a mile from the North Sea, The Hideout is the ideal base for those looking to explore the dynamic outdoors by foot.

Inside, you'll find a plush king size bed with a cashmere mattress, and a comfy seating area surrounded by a plethora of books, and a wood-burning stove. The Hideout is well insulated, ensuring a cozy stay regardless of the weather outside. A basic solar setup provides LED lights, phone charging capabilities, and WiFi.

Step out onto a raised, south facing wooden decking with a beautiful view of a field often inhabited by farm animals and wildlife. In the evenings, cast your eyes up and witness the solar system unblemished by light pollution in truly dark skies.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑲𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒏

The kitchen is basic and does not have electricity.

It comes equipped with a decent gas hob which can be used for cooking or boiling water, a wash basin, and assorted crockery.

There is no fridge, but there is a Middle Eastern zeer pot provides a traditional off-grid form of chilling produce (two large terracotta pots with a sand and water cavity allow you to keep fruit and vegetables at a cool temperature).

There is a mains water tap on site that is suitable for drinking and washing any dishes.
Please note that due to fire risk, disposable BBQs are not permitted anywhere on site.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒐𝒐

Enjoy a bit of solitary time staring at the clouds on the loo with a view.
Tucked away in a converted sheep dog kennel, the window south provides plenty of natural light, whilst being privately hidden away.

The gas powered shower provides brilliant high pressure hot water; perfect for warming up, and washing the sand from between your toes after day on the beach.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏

You've got the whole place to yourself. South facing so it catches all the sun, with a wildflower meadow mix, an apple tree, and a fire pit.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔

Embleton Bay, voted on of the best beaches in the UK is within easy walking distance.

A public footpath 150 meters from the cabin will lead you straight there, so you can bypass any parking. The local bus route that charges only £5 for an all day bus pass to travel anywhere in Northumberland stops here as well. It's perfect for those wishing to arrive via public transport.

On the doorstep of The Hideout are two other businesses; Embers & Eleanor's Byre. Embers (@embers.northumberland) is a wood fired pizza kiosk, and Eleanors Byre is a shop, offering bespoke gifts, pottery, and a selection of teas and coffees.

Please note these establishments operate independently of The Hideout.

𝑫𝒐𝒈𝒔

Guests with dogs must bring their own pet bedding, ensure that they're kept off the furniture at all times, and pick up any dog waste in the garden (all the usual respectful behaviours really). Fines will be charged to those who fail to do so.

Guest access
Secure parking is at Eleanor's Byre (NE663DW), and The Hideout is a 30 meter walk around the corner. The key code combination for access will be provided a day prior to arrival.

Neighborhood highlights

Next door, you'll find a cemetery, Eleanor's Byre shop (@eleanorsbyre), and a coffee & wood-fired pizza kiosk (@embers.northumberland). Please be mindful of noise, as the cemetery is regularly visited.

Beyond the Hideout lies a field often inhabited by cows or sheep. While curious, please do not approach or feed them. You'll have the entire space to yourself, with secure fencing to keep cattle at bay.

The nearby road may have some traffic during summer, but evenings are tranquil. Follow it North and you'll be in the village of Embleton in a flash. It's a ten minute walk, which means you can visit the fantastic local pubs and restaurants. There are no street lights, so bring a torch for the walk home.
