This unique place has a style all its own. The former manager's residence of the historic Westpac Bank built in 1885, beautifully restored to accommodate travellers to Glen Innes Highlands. Ascending the grand staircase will lead you to a world of period and modern comfort overlooking the main street of Glen Innes. Perfect for adults and children over 12 years of age.
This central location allows you the opportunity to stroll down the street to admire the unique historical architecture.
The space
The original managers residence of the bank. This top floor apartment has 3 bedrooms one with ensuite and large family bathroom with seperate toilet. A fully equipped kitchen. A large sitting room complete with electric fire and reverse cycle air conditioning and heating. A washing machine and dryer extra fridge.
Guest access
The entrance is through a side door of the building with key code entry. The entire upstairs apartment is available and the garden is a lovely place to relax in.
Other things to note
The Glen Innes Highlands is noted to experience 4 seasons in a day! It is advisable to always have a warm wrap or jacket for the cooler nights.
Spring and Autumn are spectacular with amazing colour and freshness. Winter is also an enticing time as long as you unpack all those forgotten about winter woolies complete with beanies scarves and gloves. Glen Innes is the best place to escape those hot summer days of the cities as our long mild days are a joy to explore the district.

Where I went to school: Glen Innes and Sydney
Mike and I live in Glen Innes just on the edge of town. We purchased the old Westpac bank in May 2023 and lovingly restored the upstairs managers residence. We love to travel and when doing so look for historic places and period houses to stay in. We hope that you will enjoy The Counting House as much as we have enjoyed presenting it to you all.
