The Basalt Stay is perched just before the Derwent Valley, with an apricot orchard on one side & wide sky and river views out front.
Sunrise breaks behind the bridge & lights up the living areas. Sunset falls downriver while the swans do their thing on loop. If you’re lucky, the moon pulls a showstopper—rising over the water like it owns the place

Inside, you’ll find warmth, clean lines, a crackling fire, and just enough space to recalibrate. This isn’t a stay that tries too hard. It just works

We’re Skye and Trav We lived at The Basalt Stay long enough to fall for the sunrises, the river, and the swans that dance on loop out front. We’ve since outgrown the space, but it still holds something special. The Basalt Stay is calm, thoughtful, and quietly styled — somewhere to watch the sky shift, settle in slowly, and feel like it’s all been thought through. We hope it holds a little something for you too.
