The space
Amenities & Key Information

THE TREEHOUSE is a tranquil, stand-alone casita nestled among a canopy of piñons, pines, chokecherries, plums, and Russian olives. Just off the bedroom, a private, sparkling hot tub invites you to unwind beneath the stars, making this retreat a perfect blend of comfort and nature. A short walk down the driveway and over the grassy area in front of the main house you'll find a path that leads down to the river area — ideal for quiet moments of reflection or a leisurely stroll.

Inside, the space offers a bright bedroom with a king bed, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, and an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area. A private bathroom with shower and indoor laundry add to your convenience.

Step onto the spacious wraparound deck to enjoy your morning coffee, practice yoga, or birdwatch in the mountain air. A gas grill and outdoor dining area offer a peaceful setting for meals alfresco. Don’t forget your binoculars — the birdlife here is abundant.

THE TREEHOUSE accommodates up to 3 guests comfortably.

Safety & Property Use Guidelines:

Please be advised: a main acequia (irrigation channel) runs near the parking area and often carries fast-moving water during irrigation season. The property also includes hot tubs and river access, which can present safety hazards, especially for young children. Guests are solely responsible for their own safety and that of any minors in their care.

Guests are welcome to explore the grounds south of the main house, down to the river. For your safety, please stay on the path when walking down to the river. The riverside is an excellent spot for picnicking, reading, or simply enjoying nature. The property terrain includes uneven ground and partially concealed ditches that may pose tripping hazards so please be careful where you walk.

By accessing and using the property, guests acknowledge and accept all inherent risks associated with water features, wildlife, and uneven natural terrain.

Parking & Access:

Primary parking is located immediately to the left as you enter the property. Please park in the space clearly marked for THE TREEHOUSE. An EV charger is available in the upper lot, mounted on the left-side fence.

Additional parking is available across the bridge in the lower lot. Kindly avoid parking in the space reserved for THE LOFT.

To access THE TREEHOUSE, walk directly behind the designated parking space. Look for the sign and follow the deck walkway to the front door.

Pet Policy:

We welcome one well-behaved pet per reservation for a $50 fee per stay.

Please observe the following pet guidelines:

– Pets must not be left unattended inside the home.
– Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture.
– Please clean muddy paws before entering to preserve carpets.
– Pets must be leashed when outside.

Other things to note
Important Safety Notice & Guest Guidelines

Please be aware that a main acequia (irrigation ditch) runs alongside the property near the parking area. This ditch is often full of water and may pose a hazard, especially to young children. Additionally, there are hot tubs and a fast-flowing river on the property that also present potential safety risks. Guests assume all responsibility for their safety and the safety of any minors in their care. Children must be supervised at all times.

Guests are welcome to explore the grounds south of the main house down to the river. Please remain on the path and use caution, as there are narrow, partially hidden irrigation ditches in the grassy areas that may cause tripping or injury. By entering and using the property, guests acknowledge and accept any and all risks associated with outdoor terrain and natural water features.

To preserve the peaceful and restorative nature of this experience, we do not allow loud music, parties, or disruptive behavior. Please respect the privacy and space of other guests at all times.

This property is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including raccoons, skunks, coyotes, deer, owls, raptors, and songbirds. Please enjoy them from a distance and do not attempt to feed or approach them.

We strive to offer a sanctuary for guests seeking relaxation, inspiration, and a deep connection with nature. Group bookings of all three accommodations — The Treehouse, The Barn, and The Loft — are welcomed for family gatherings or small retreats. We also accommodate long-term stays, and can suggest nearby lodging options if your group exceeds our capacity.

By staying on this property, guests agree to release the property owners and managers from any liability for injuries, accidents, or losses that may occur during their stay, whether in the accommodations or on the grounds.

Neighborhood highlights

The Treehouse is centrally-located with easy access to our historic Plazas, Taos Pueblo (World Heritage Site) as well as Taos Ski Valley.

The area is unusually lush and green for Taos in the summer months. Winter usually brings lots of snow from November to March. Snow tires and/or chains are highly recommended during the winter months.

There are magnificent, old Cottonwood trees on the property and you'll be surrounded by calming, pastoral views all the way down to the river. Sometimes you'll see cows grazing on the property.

Taos is well known for its excellent skiing terrain, light powder and blue skies. Taos Ski Valley, a world-class ski resort, is 40 minutes away. Sipapu, Angel Fire and Red River are also great ski areas, easily accessed from our location. We're about 10 minutes away from both the historic Taos and Ranchos Plazas.
