Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
This semi rural location gives you a taste of country living with amazing views yet just 5 minutes drive to the nearest shopping area, a short walk to the sports precinct,
8 minutes drive to the nearest beach, 10-15 minutes to Hobart CBD and Salamanca and on the way to the stunning Huon Valley.

The cottage was renovated in 2023 to a high standard, comfortably sleeping upto 6 adults.

We may be able to accommodate up to 2 horses in paddocks with advance notice.

The space
The cottage is on five acres of land although only the house and immediate surround are available for guests.

A number of horses live on the block and can be seen going about their daily business from the bedrooms at the back.

There is a shed on the block and this is used daily in the care of the horses. The owner of most of the horses may allow you to feed them some carrots, but be aware of the electric fences!

Welcome Swallows make their nests under the eaves of the house during the summer and are welcome guests indeed. They seem to not mind human presence too much.

The front of the house overlooks a small outdoor horse arena which we allow members of the neighbourhood to use when required. There is a stunning view across Northwest Bay and in the distance, Bruny Island.

The house was built in the 1980s, we have fully renovated the property to a high standard fitting a new bathroom, kitchen and laundry with new flooring throughout. The cottage has a fresh Scandi styling.

The main bedroom is large and spacious, the remaining two are smaller, one with a double bed and one with two singles. The two singles can be pushed together to make a bed that is King size in width, however, still the standard single length.

Between guests staying, the exterior of the property will continue to be renovated.

Guest access
The cottage has a driveway on the road side. All paved patio areas around the front of the house are for guests to use. The horse arena at the front of the house can be used for children to play in supervised so long as no horses are using it! There is no fenced garden.

Other things to note
The cottage was built by a very dear relative, it was his dream house in his dream location, he loved it very much and brought up his two children there, one of which is one of your hosts. Sadly he passed away in 2021 which broke the hearts of the community. The house has been renovated with much love, but also many tears. We hope you enjoy your stay and love the house as much as we do.

Neighborhood highlights

A much sought after rural location just five minutes from Kingston and 15 minutes to Hobart CBD, a short walk to take full advantage of the facilities at Kingborough Sports Centre. Kingston beach is a 10 minute drive or a beautiful walk through footpaths (6.5km).

There is a lot of local wildlife at your doorstep, as well as horses and sheep in neighbouring paddocks. The neighbourhood boasts both mountain and water views over Kingston Beach and Northwest Bay.

I work full time in education, I’m always busy but in our spare time my husband and I renovated a late relatives cottage. It was a major undertakings blood, sweat and many tears, but we are really proud of the outcome!
