Two stylish and restored mid-century modern cabins are a thousand miles from nowhere, yet just one walkable or ridable mile from the village, a 5 minute drive to the National Park entrance, and about 15 to legendary Pappy & Harriet's. The property is surrounded by Joshua trees, wildlife, desert vistas, mountain views, and peaceful solitude as far as the eye can see.
The space
The Cabins at Sunset & Vine provides the ultimate private escape in a breathtaking high desert environment. It's a perfect oasis for disconnecting from the everyday and reconnecting with family, friends, loved ones, nature, or yourself all on your lonesome.
CASA SALVADOR
These luxury cabins consist of our main house, Casa Salvadora, an authentic two bedroom mid-century modern home that sleeps up to six. Our designer-done kitchen and bath boast beautiful terra cotta Zia Tile and gorgeous custom cabinetry made with reclaimed wood by a local artisan carpenter. Our kitchen is fully stocked with every amenity you can think of and some you might not. A king bed in one room and a queen in the next with luxury 100% cotton sheets and DreamCloud pillow top mattresses, plus a comfortable queen pull-out sofa bed in the living room that sleeps one nicely but can do two in a pinch. Both bedrooms have dedicated workspaces and wonderful picture windows with blackout blinds. The open plan living and dining room includes a Marshall Bluetooth speaker and a vintage record player, records, plus art and architecture books, board games, HD television, bar seating for two, a dining table for four, and a wood-burning fireplace.
CASITA DEL SOL
Just over yonder is Casita del Sol, a revamped spacious studio that sleeps up to three via a king bed and a single twin bed offering amazing privacy for large groups of family and friends. The casita has an en suite half bath and laundry room, while just outside is a romantic rainfall shower. Casita del Sol features amazing desert views, a retro mini-refrigerator, Vertuo Nespresso machine, a Marshall bluetooth speaker, and a private patio with vintage Crosley Furniture primed to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail.
SPA & PROPERTY
An alluring eight-person jacuzzi hot tub is located in the middle of the cabins and is heated and available all year-round. Four lounge chairs are perfect for soaking up the desert sun. Our front porch has four matte black Adirondack chairs for enjoying our incredible desert sunsets. On our back porch, prepare a gourmet feast on the barbecue gas grill and dine at our massive handmade dining table by family-owned Tackett Tables. Or simply relax while enjoying a a bottle of wine at our open fire pit, the ideal location to stargaze in the ever clear desert sky. Our back porch also has luxe outdoor furniture and Adirondack chairs, plus a storage box with outdoor pillows and games like Bocce Ball and Cornhole.
Roam around the property and discover a 1950s tractor trailer, furnace, and other charming desert finds original to the home. Wear shoes or sandals as the desert terrain can be a bit rocky and lookout for frequent wildlife like jackrabbits, roadrunners, and the occasional coyote.
But, more than anything, relax, unwind, and don't worry about a thing.

Other things to note
A few things to note:
- Noise carries like the fine tune of a whippoorwill in the desert. Please be respectful of our neighbors and keep noise down from 10pm to 8am.
- Our great hot tub guy services the hot tub every Friday morning from 10am-3pm. Please let us know if you'd like for us to reschedule.
- Casita del Sol has an en suite HALF bathroom, not full. Just outside the casita's back door is a private outdoor shower.
- A fire extinguisher is located near our indoor fireplace. Please let us know in advance if you plan to light a fire inside. We will provide you with instructions.
- A First Aid kit and flashlights are located beneath the kitchen sink.
- The property is serviced regularly, but please close all doors behind you as you most likely won't like a roadrunner waking up beside you in the morning.
- Casa Salvadora's bedrooms each have sound machines just in case some of you are early risers and some of you are not.
- All bedrooms and the living room/kitchen have their own AC/Heat split-levels operated by remote control.
- All houses in Joshua Tree are on a Septic Tank system. For this reason nothing can be flushed down the toilet except toilet paper.
- Joshua Tree Village has occasional scheduled power outages. We will let you know if one is planned at the time of your booking.
- While we love our furry friends (we have three!), no pets are allowed at this time.
