Sudentupa is an atmospheric log cabin apartment in the peaceful surroundings of Ruka. The space
Sudentupa is a distinctive log cabin apartment in the peaceful Topinranta area of Ruka, set by the shore of the small Kesäjärvi lake. Designed across three levels, the home has an atmospheric split-level layout that gives it both character and a wonderful sense of space. Aged log walls, a striking soapstone fireplace, warm lighting and large windows create an authentic northern cabin feel that is both cozy and refined.
The apartment combines rustic charm with practical comfort. There is one separate bedroom, a spacious loft sleeping area, a private sauna, a compact and functional bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen with generous counter space for proper cooking. The living room is centered around the fireplace and a comfortable seating area, making it an inviting place to gather after a day outdoors. The upstairs loft also offers extra space to relax, and a small desk provides a convenient spot for remote work or planning the day’s adventures.
Outdoors, guests can enjoy both a covered front terrace and a covered balcony where guests can enjoy the peaceful lakeside setting.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire apartment, including the living room, kitchen, bathroom, sauna, bedroom, loft sleeping area, covered balcony and covered front terrace. The outdoor storage and wood storage are also available for guest use.
The apartment is especially well suited for active holidays. In the entrance area, there is plenty of storage space as well as a drying cabinet, which is particularly useful after skiing, hiking or other outdoor days in changing Lapland weather. The kitchen is well equipped for everyday cooking and includes a fridge, oven, ceramic stove, microwave and dishwasher.
There are two parking spaces directly in front of the apartment.
Other things to note
Sudentupa is located in a quiet cabin area and is best suited for guests who appreciate a peaceful, relaxing stay close to nature. It is not suitable for parties, and quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
As the apartment is arranged across multiple levels, there are stairs inside the home. This is worth noting for guests travelling with very small children or for anyone with reduced mobility.
The nearest ski bus stop is just a short walk away (50m) , cross-country ski trails begin nearby, and the nearest ski lift and Ruka village are about 2 km from the apartment. Basic services such as a grocery store, Alko and fuel station are also within easy reach (10min walk).
Please note that there is currently no Wi-Fi in the cabin. The TV can be used for regular channels, and an HDMI cable is available if you would like to connect your own laptop or device.
ℹ️ Guests must use bed linen. Bed linen and towels are not included with the accommodation - please bring your own bed linen and towels (incl. kitchen towels) with you or alternatively you can order those from our caretaker for an additional charge (25€ per set).
Pets are welcome by prior agreement only, and a pet fee applies. Smoking is not allowed indoors or on the terraces. Electric vehicle charging is not permitted from the property’s sockets or heating post.
