The space
Perched high in the Hollywood Hills, Studio 1080 has a cozy, secluded treehouse vibe crossed with a very modern city apartment. With a stunning, ever-changing view of Downtown Los Angeles spread out before you — and 11 acres of untouched Laurel Canyon wilderness just below your window — you can watch hawks circle and soar, city lights sparkle at night, and sometimes even spot the Goodyear Blimp drifting by. You might hear the soft crack of twigs as a deer and her fawn forage quietly below your private patio.

You’ll have easy access to both the city and the San Fernando Valley, with Hollywood, West Hollywood, Universal Studios, and Beverly Hills all just a short drive away — though with so much happening right outside your door, you may just decide to stay in.

Guest access
You’ll have private, self-contained access to Studio 1080 and your own outdoor patio. Guests often enjoy stepping right outside to the quiet neighborhood walking loop just beyond the property — a peaceful, approximately one-mile circuit that takes about 20 minutes and offers fresh air, canyon views, and a true sense of the Hollywood Hills.

While you’re just minutes from the energy of Hollywood and West Hollywood by car, many guests find the immediate surroundings so relaxing that they choose to stay local — or stay in.

Other things to note
***Maximum stay: 28 days. Studio 1080 is designed as a short-term hospitality experience and does not offer multi-month tenancy.

***HISTORICAL HOME!****Studio 1080 Hollywood was originally the at-home workspace of 1960s fashion designer, Rudi Gernreich, who lived here for more than 30 years from the 1950s to his death in 1986.

***STEPS DOWN FROM STREET***
Just so you know, there are steps to Studio 1080 down from street level to your keyless-locked private patio entrance. Street parking is readily available within steps of your entrance.

***MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS... JUST ASK ALEXA!***
Regarding sleeping arrangements: I think this space is best suited for one or two people, who sleep together in the cozy bedroom niche, which has a brand new king-sized Casper memory foam mattress with super-comfortable pillows and linens on an 18" platform. Please keep in mind that the mattress extends wall to wall, with comfortable padded leatherette wall panels as a headboard. I personally LOVE it!! When you’re tucked into bed, just say, “Alexa, turn on NITE NITE,” then the music stops and ALL lights fade to black while the motorized shades close. The room has an HVAC vent and a small Vornado fan for moving air, and you can say, “Alexa, open Thunderstorm Sounds” if you need that kind of white noise to sleep. It’s a peaceful quiet area, so there’s not much noise, although you probably will hear the coyotes howl to each other in the canyon.

SOFA BED (see before/after photos of folded-out sofa in lounge space at end of my pix): The sofa sleeper bed has a single-sized mattress with topper and bed linens. While it is functional, and I’ve made it as comfortable as possible, it's still a fold-out sofa sleeper and takes up much of the living room/lounge area, making it more difficult to get around the room -- to the kitchen and bathroom -- while it's extended. The sofa sleeper is perfect for a teen or child traveling with her parents, but may be a tight fit for an adult.

***BABIES & CRIBS**** I've also had some guests with an infant who found the floor space to be too small for a fold-out baby bed, so I do not recommend it for others. Although I'll let my guests decide what is best for their needs, I wanted to be proactive in describing the space and its capacity. Thanks for looking and booking! If my space is appropriate for you and your party, I look forward to being your host! ERIC

My work: Eric Allen Productions
Speaks English
Hi, I'm Eric Allen! I moved from Minnesota to California to be a Disneyland VIP Tour Guide in the 1980s, and never left! It’s the legendary Disney Guest Relations Courtesy Training that informs everything I do to ensure my Airbnb guests are welcomed, comfortable and well cared for. I’ve been a Hollywood party reporter for USA Today, an entertainment correspondent for CNN, producer of E! travel shows on TV, and now I run my own production company, Eric Allen Productions, specializing in video projects for luxury travel clients, as well as non-profit charitable causes and social media campaigns. But enough about me. When you stay with me, it’s all about YOU. First and foremost, I want you to know that ALL ARE WELCOME HERE! I value and welcome diversity in all its forms. It does not matter where you’re from, how you worship or who you love — I treat all my guests with warmth, respect and want you to have the most fantastic time EVER while you’re staying with me. I feel absolutely fortunate to live in this house with the most fantastic view in the world and had enough extra room to build STUDIO 1080 -- the nickname for my Airbnb space -- a purpose-built luxury apartment with the vibe of a secluded treehouse crossed with an amenity-packed city center highrise penthouse. I enjoy being an Airbnb host because it's fun to share this special space with folks from all walks of life. Everybody has their unique reason they're venturing out of their box at home. The thing my guests all have in common though, is they depart wanting to come back again and again. Thanks for looking!
