Waterfront home with amazing panoramic view on Stretch Island (a drive-on island with bridge.) A quiet & peaceful refuge, this beautiful & unique one level home offers water views from every room. The large cedar sunroom is perfectly cozy no matter the weather!
Enjoy a beachside campfire & S'mores, catch the sunset & stargaze in an open expanse of sky. Waterside patio has a wood burning fire bowl. Beachside hammocks invite you to relax & listen to the lapping waves.
The space
Tastefully furnished waterfront home with a comfortable, beachy vibe. Multiple seating areas both inside & outside from which to enjoy the view.
A well stocked kitchen is central to the home with nearly everything you need to prepare a meal.
Living room has a comfortable sofa large enough to sleep on. Karaoke machine with 2 mics, TV with YouTube TV, DVD player & streaming for Netflix, etc. We also provide a small selection of movies, books, cards & board games.
Large cedar sunroom on the water side walks out to the deck. Dine in the sunroom with table that seats 6 along with multiple cozy seating areas. Electric fireplace keeps it cozy in winter & window a/c units keep it cool in summer. The sunroom has a couch with ottomans that create a comfortable bed a little smaller than a queen mattress. An optional mattress pad can be found rolled up behind the loveseat by the sliding glass door.
Deck off the sunroom has party lights for the evenings, a bistro set for enjoying your morning coffee and a patio set to relax & catch some sun.
Both a propane grill & a charcoal BBQ grill with cooking tools are right off the driveway across from the front door. (Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid for the BBQ & wood for the waterside fire bowl.)
Master bedroom has a high quality California King mattress & is adjacent to the full bathroom with oversized jetted tub. Master has a view of the water, as well as a Smart TV & large dresser for your belongings.
Second bedroom with full bed is just down the hall. A twin mattress under the bed may be pulled out and kept in the room or moved to the living room or sunroom. This bedroom has insulated curtains instead of doors. There are toys & books for kids & a small desk space, shelves & closet. This bedroom also has a water view.
A/C window units are available seasonally to keep the house cool in the summer, along with window blinds. There are multiple electric fans in the home & a ceiling fan in the living room.
In the winter the home is heated with a furnace for the main home, electric wall heaters in the sunroom & wood burning stove in the living room. (Please bring your own firewood.)
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home and the yard and beach immediately in front of the home.
The bungalow by the water will soon be under renovation and is off limits. (No construction will take place during guest stays.)
Please ONLY use the beach directly in front of the home. Stay off neighboring property beaches except to walk by. You may walk down the beach but not loiter or collect anything from neighboring beaches. No shellfish collection is allowed anywhere on the island.
If you wish to collect shellfish there are public beaches nearby where that is allowed.
Other things to note
We recommend packing water shoes for going in the ocean as we have a typical rocky Washington beach.
Our beach fronts on salt water where the tides typically come in and go fully out twice per day. As a result, there are times when the water view goes away for a few hours, replaced by the view of the shimmering tide flats.
Our driveway is gravel and has some steep areas. The walking path down to the beach is also a bit steep & there are no handrails, so please assess your mobility and that of your group before booking. We plan to add handrails and steps in the future.
Owner may occasionally need to visit the upper tier of the property or may be at the tiny home. It should not impact guests in any way.
Stretch Island has a bridge to drive on, so you don’t have to take a ferry to reach the island.
We allow dogs with a non-refundable pet fee of $70 per pet for 1-3 day stays, which will be added onto your reservation after booking. Longer stays will require a higher pet fee. (Please inquire.) Dogs are not allowed on the furniture, cannot be left alone in the home, and must be leashed at all times or under direct supervision when outside. You must clean up after your dog outside & inside.
The home is a single-wide manufactured home with an added Lindal cedar sunroom. The combined square footage is 1,236.
The upper tier of the property has a tiny home that is another Airbnb listing. Please inquire about booking it along with the main house! The tiny home does not have beach access when booked by itself, so you do not have to share the beach with tiny home guests.
(Please do not trespass on the tiny house deck or yard unless you have booked it! There will likely be other guests there.)
The number of guests in the reservation is the maximum number of guests allowed on the property at any time, not just overnight. No additional guests are allowed on the property without prior approval.
Trash & recycling bins are located up at the road, to the left of the driveway and are marked “310”. DO NOT use the bins by the “Cain” mailbox!
Please DO NOT go on our neighbor’s floating docks or kayaks!
Our area is subject to burn bans for much of the summer, typically July-September at a minimum. This is includes wood fire pits, charcoal grills and indoor wood stoves. We do not offer refunds for regional burn bans. If access to these amenities is important to your stay, please inquire about burn bans before booking.
The region is subject to occasional snow. We provide maintenance but do not have daily services, therefore if it snows the day of or during your stay the property may be subject to snow and ice.
