The Steps to the Sea Guest House is a private cottage nestled in the enchanting forest of Salt Spring Island's North End. Forest bathe from home every day in privacy with 1 acre of private forest backyard with 100+ foot trees, and live amongst the deer plus other Canadian wildlife. Work from home in the cottage in the tranquil forest. Just a short path down to a secluded bay with oyster beds where a kayaking journey can begin. Escape the city and find true peace in nature here.

The space
• 800 sqft indoors, with a large covered deck with outdoor table and BBQ (patio French doors open to extend the living room, creating an indoor/outdoor space).

• 2 Queen Beds in 2 separate bedrooms each with private ensuite showers/bathrooms.

• Fully furnished including bedsheets, duvet covers, white towels, kitchen utensils, self catered dining area with appliances and washing machine with dryer.

• Propane fireplace in the Main Room.

• Contemporary post and beam design with "Tilt and Turn" European windows that open two ways.

• Panoramic sunsets just a walking distance to Southey Point Beach at the end of Arbutus Rd.

• A deer family lives on the property, so it's a serene location.

• Steps to the Sea – from the cottage is a 1-minute path leading down to Southey Bay, to pristine oyster beds and views of the bay you can enjoy from yellow lounge chairs.

• A 10-15 minute walk to the end of Arbutus Road for panoramic ocean views, breathtaking sunsets, and views of the northern Gulf Islands plus Vancouver Island.

• Enjoy Salt Spring Island's numerous trails, hikes, outdoor activities, wineries, brewery, famous Saturday Market, local artists, and artisans.

• Organic farms are a close drive away.

Guest access
Private driveway to the property, and the cottage is on the far right. In front of the cottage to the left is a parking cement slab with lights on it – up to 4 cars can park here.

Other things to note
We've stocked welcome items to get started (shower soap, shampoo and conditioner, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, mop, household cleaners). You are expected to resupply the items you require for the remainder of your stay. We do not resupply.

Tip: Bring your camping folding recliner chairs or hammock with its hanging extension gear if you'd like to set it up in the backyard forest.
