Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood, Skinker-Debaliviere, was built shortly after the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, just North of the former fairgrounds (now Forest Park). It has single-family and multi-family houses from the early 1900s as well as a few newer modern infill homes. We are immediately South of the Delmar Loop, an exciting nightlife and entertainment district recently named one of the Ten Best Streets in America. We are also walking distance from Washington University in St. Louis, and chose the neighborhood because Emily works there.

This area is walkable, dense, near public transit, and home to a variety
of people. We can walk to the public library, a movie theater, a small international grocery store (United Provisions on Delmar), and a host of restaurants and shops. We can ride our bikes to Forest Park or Washington University. We can take the MetroLink downtown. Or we can hop in our car and be on the highway in minutes.

We are a young-ish married couple, Rich and Emily. Rich is a civil servant and Emily is a digital librarian. We enjoy travel, trivia, coffee, parks, PBS, streaming television, music, and dinner parties (pre-pandemic :-( . We come to St. Louis by way of Louisville and a bunch of other U.S. towns. We live nearby with our three adorable and energetic children. Our goal is to host full time once we retire.
