Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Chalet Starfish is in an amazing spot facing directly onto the dunes, just a short stroll to Gwithian beach. Great for walking, surfing and exploring the surrounding coast and nature.
It’s a truly peaceful location with no passing traffic, close to cafes and pubs.
We welcome well behaved dogs.
We've recently refreshed the house with new flooring, paint and furniture but it still has all the quirkiness of a classic beach chalet, comfortable and relaxed.
Short breaks available.

The space
The chalet entrance is via the long sunroom on the front. This is a bright warm space with dune and distant bay views. Perfect for morning coffee or relaxing afternoons on cooler days.

The kitchen is equipped with fridge, electric hob and oven, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, french-press, toaster and microwave with an additional fridge freezer and a dishwasher and washing machine in the utility room. The kitchen leads on the lounge and also to the second bedroom.

The bright and airy lounge-dining area is comfortably furnished with a sofa and armchairs, SMART TV, dvd player and digital radio. Patio doors to the rear garden. The dining table seats 4.

The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, hanging space for clothes and views over the dunes and to the bay. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, hanging space and views of the back garden.

The bathroom has a bath with wall mounted electric shower. There is a separate toilet and sink next to the main bedroom.

Linen and bathroom towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.

Newly fitted electric radiators keep the house warm year round.

To the front of the chalet is a large secluded deck area. This is great sun-trap, private and sheltered from the wind with great views across the dunes and a great spot for bird and wildlife watching. You can move the outdoor furniture (sofa and table and chairs) to use in the sunroom or on the deck – depending on the weather. Charcoal BBQ, sun umbrella and sun beds stored in shed.

Parking for two cars – one on the driveway and one immediately outside of the gate. There is a shed where sports kit and bikes can be stored.

Gwithian towans beach voted in the Time and Sunday Times beach of the year for 2024.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole house and fully fenced lawned garden.
House is all on one level with the exception of one step into the second bedroom. Front door has ramp access.

Other things to note
The track leading to the house is quite bumpy - please drive slowly.
There is a caravan site located behind the house which is open April to October. We have always found the caravan site to be quiet and well managed. None of our guests have been disturbed by noise.
Up to 2 well- behaved dogs are welcome for an additional booking fee of £25. We request that dogs are kept off of furniture and beds.

Neighborhood highlights

Follow the sand path in front of the chalet for direct access to the dunes and a spectacular panoramic view of the bay. Take your surfboard and walk from the house to the surf in minutes. This area is a local nature reserve and amazing for walking and birdwatching.

The 3 mile sandy beach is great for sunbathing, picnics, watersports, swimming and playing in the rock pools. It is lifeguard patrolled from Easter to end of October. Lots of fun for all the family.

Dogs are allowed on the beach year round with some restrictions in the summer.

Gwithian Beach gets rideable surf regularly and is a great place for beginners to learn too. Surf schools such as Gwithian Academy of Surfing, Global Boarders and Shore Surfing offer lessons and equipment hire. Or just grab a wetsuit and a boogie board.

The Cornwall South West Coast path runs past, a few minutes walk from the house and the area offers plenty of walking routes. Mutton Cove, home to a large grey seal colony is stunning and only a 20-30 minute walk on the Godrevy headland.

E bikes are another great way to explore the area and can be rented locally from Go eBike based at the nearby Sunset café.
