Set in the heart of Colchester’s quaint downtown Village District, and overlooking the Town Green, The O’Connell House is an 1840 Greek Revival that has been thoughtfully renovated to showcase historic character and modern amenities.

The space
The Smith Room features a Queen bed, walk-in closet, sitting area with pull out sofa (full-size bed) and electric fireplace, bay window overlooking the Town Green, Smart TV, and a private full bath with jetted tub. The Smith Room adjoins the Cragin Room via a short, lockable hallway if requested.
The O’Connell House offers 4 unique guest rooms that can accommodate up to 12 overnight guests, as well as communal space on the main floor in our Dining Room, Drawing Room, Parlor, Sun Room and outdoor porches overlooking the Town Green.
Our Inn is filled with historic architecture and features: formal sitting rooms with marble fireplaces; 10’ ceilings with plaster crown molding; crystal chandeliers; a baby grand piano; galleries of pictures and prints highlighting national, state and local historical events and points of interest; and lots of cozy, intimate seating areas for conversations, morning coffee, reading or game play.
*We provide complimentary continental breakfast every morning at our coffee bar for all overnight guests of the Inn.
Parking is on-site.

The O'Connell House Inn provides private guest rooms and shared access to the wrap around front porch, side porch, main floor restrooms, Dining Room (coffee bar), Drawing Room, Parlor and Sun Room.
Access to and use of any or all shared spaces included and described in the Listing is dependent upon availability. We retain the right to limit certain access from Inn guests at any time.
During your stay
We provide ‘invisible service’ (self check-in/out, self-serve amenities), and a virtual concierge is available throughout your stay should you have any questions. Additionally, Brian or Stephanie are on-site or nearby to assist with anything you may need.
Other things to note
Check-in is 3pm and checkout is 10am. We are sometimes able to accommodate alternate times if requested in advance.
Requests for early check-in and/or late checkout are considered in the order they are received. If you would prefer a check-in time before 3pm and/or a checkout after 10am, please send us a note at time of booking. We will let you know if we can accommodate your request 72-24hours before your check-in date.
In some instances an additional fee may apply.
If you are interested in just a day or hourly-rate for an event or studio use without overnight stay, please send us an inquiry.
We may be hosting a private event/hourly-rental in one of our communal spaces on the main floor during a portion of your stay, limiting access to Inn guests. Whenever possible we will let you know in advance of any major activity happening on site during your stay, but we retain the right to limit certain access from Inn guests at any time without notice.
