Welcome to the Sea Star~ a cozy yurt you'll find bright, rustic, and well-kept in a rural Northwest neighborhood 5 miles from maritime Port Townsend. Yurts are round sturdy canvas structures. Ours has a full kitchen, queen sized bed, indoor powder room, attached shower room and private deck in a temperate rainforest setting. Free of streetlights to enjoy stargazing. Pets welcome. Not suitable for small children or infants. Your hosts, Mark and Sara, live on the property.

The space
Down a gravel road, enjoy simplicity with no television, privately wooded, and dark starry nights. There is a queen sized bed. WiFi is available. The Sea Star is spacious and triple walled with electric and propane sourced heating. There is a kitchen with a small fridge, stovetop, microwave, toaster, dishes, and dining area. A large deck space can also be a dining or bird watching spot. The shower room is enclosed and accessed from the front deck.

Guest access
The entire yurt with its large deck and one parking space is available to guests. Let me know if you're arriving with a second vehicle, so I can arrange for a parking space. If you need anything or information on the area, please call, text, or feel free to come over to the house. We are often home to help out.

Other things to note
VERY IMPORTANT: please let me know prior to reserving if you have health concerns such as covid exposure, medical conditions, allergies & sensitivities, mobility restrictions, or proximity to health services. Always let me know if there are more than two guests--there is an extra charge per night and I will provide an inflated twin sized mattress and linens. The interior space and deck is not suitable for infants or small children. We provide a good coffee and tea selection, a french press, tea kettle, dishes, microwave, and cooking supplies. Filtered water is provided due to a high iron content in our well water. The stove top works fine but unfortunately the gas oven doesn't work fine. You will find in a welcome binder recommendations for services, dining and entertainment in the area.

Neighborhood highlights

You'll notice as you turn on to our gravel road a large duck pond and a 10-acre meadow, reaching the wooded area where the Sea Star is tucked in. Expect some daytime noise typical of a rural neighborhood such as farm animals, machinery, small aircraft, and highway traffic. We're just 5 miles away from Port Townsend where you'll find a vibrant nightlife, art events, festivals, a working seaport, and excellent restaurants.
